Disappointed? Are you really that naive? It was to be expected is all I can say. Without trying to show respect for that sort of behaviour, I think someone experienced with drug abuse (not necessarily through your own experience, but through observing your surroundings) should be able to show a little more understanding towards what is happening. These NMDA antagonists of abuse (and some newly developed more selective substances with less potential for abuse) are powerful antidepressants. For someone who might've been caught up in or developing a depression throughout the years, constantly seeking help through substances by self medicating (consciously or not), probably even having been through psychiatric treatment, someone with such a history for example who now finds out about the enormous antidepressant potential of this drug can hardly be blamed for lacking scepticism towards it. This becomes even more apparent when you look at said substance's potential to induce manic behaviour and delusions.I find it extremely disappointing how little self-control most drug users have. This thread is perfect proof.
I won't say I am perfect, but people using this stuff daily are just asking for trouble.
Combining with alcohol is a huge mistake as well. We don't know what potential toxic interactions there could be between NMDA antagonism and the things alcohol does (particularly with GABA). Don't make yourself the example.
Please do not be stupid with this chemical. There are people smart enough to find this board, and read/post in this thread. You are that smart, now don't revert all you accomplished and be fucking stupid and combine MXE with alcohol, or do MXE every day.
I strongly advise against practicing a pattern of use like the one you describe or any regular usage of such substance at all, before we know more about long term effects. In fact I've done so many times over in this thread. The behaviour can only be called reckless and naive, but to demonstrate such a lack of understanding as you just did and even end up finishing your brief tirade with a straight up insult to these people's intelligence (isn't there even an inverse relation of substance use disorder and intelligence?)... Well that sort of thing is much more "disappointing" to me, seeing it come from someone who has 630 posts on these boards and who should therefore be experienced and educated about their effects on the mind, on behaviour and their power to draw a user in. I advise you to practice some understanding, respect your fellow bluelighters (not just them ofc) and then you might have a chance to pass some knowledge to them. Insulting them will not increase their chances of listening to you and change their behaviour accordingly, the opposite is the case. In this case I will claim you do understand this principle of human nature (opposed to being disappointed again) and have to assume that the actual health of these people is not your biggest concern.
Aside from that, there are plenty of people here combining alcohol with heroin, benzos, barbs, whatever other downer. Some throw some stims in the mix as well and might even IV the whole chemtail into their veins, 24-7 that is. See if you can start educating those about their "stupidity" and "lack of self control" as well because to be quite frank, the acute health hazards of alcohol and mxe seem to be much smaller, without wanting to promote that combination!!
I'm just saying: I agree to what you are saying about potential dangers and advising against high frequent use, but your presentation isn't really the type that will attract listeners to gather around you, from all I've seen anyway. Maybe it helps looking at how people react when they find out about your substance use and what sort of feelings and reactions it sparked in you.
