opiates stimulating for you? you may genetically predisposed to be an opioid addict!
i always wondered why high doses (or any dose really) of opiates made me stimulated, energetic, etc, like a CNS stimulant, and not like a downer at all. of course ill nod with ridiculously high doses or if mixed with alcohol, benzos, diphen, z-drugs, etc... ill get a little tired but opiates always give me a lot of motivation and energy, and i never really thought about it any further than that. until my last doctor visit. (suboxone doctor). he told me that he takes percocet daily for pain and gets dysphoric and tired and doesn't enjoy taking it and said that 90% of the population has that (or similar) reaction to opiates, dysphoria, nausea, sedation, and do not like it, and the other 10% get euphoria, energy, and love it, and those 10% most likely are genetically predisoposed to be opiate addicts.
i know many girls who have tried opiates and hate them (usually state nausea and sleepiness as side effects that out-weighed the little or no euphoria), so i figured maybe it was a male/female thing, but it isn't (at least i dont think so anymore). its all about your genetics...which makes sense, because getting stimulated from opiates shows you're predisposed to be one is similar IMO to how people who really have ADD/ADHD get calm/relaxed instead of speedy/jittery when they take ritalin/focalin/adderall/dexedrine.
