I'm with you as well. I can definately understand that people who have anxiety issues find it very relaxing since it can be a big relief to them, but I don't have any anxiety at all, more the opposite, so benzo's don't do a thing for me except help me sleep or make me tired in higher doses. The only benzo I found close to euphoric was Rohypnol, even Dormicum doesn't give me euphoria, just relaxation. I also IM'ed a Rivotril ampoule recently, and that the most relaxing experience I had with a benzo, and it wasn't even a big dose, IM just gives it it's full effects.

I think if you operate, as I do, with a pretty high pressure head of anxiousness, that you will find the easing of this "euphoric."

Tranquilizers aren't, inherently.

Psych0naut: you'd be surprised... I actually have on-going anxiety and panic attacks. Yet I find alprazolam yucky and it is actually not all that useful for anxiety, believe it or not. I find Diazepam and Clonazepam to be the best anxiolytics.

I agree with Jason about the warmth issue.

If anythig, alprazolam reminds me of phenobarbital... which (to me) is one of the few psychoactives that are less interesting than being sober ;)

2mg xanax would knock me out

you will need anywhere from 3 to 8, it varies between individuals
 
Xanax is great, you take too much and make a fool of yourself, wake and have 10 people call and tell ya all the stupid shit you did. you want recall trust me.

You feel like a ass for acting stupid ,so you take more. Then you want care.

I agree. I hate Xanax. One night after I took some I flushed 45 pills of Xanax down the toilet because it made me feel so shitty. Of course, all my friends were super pissed at me 8o .
 
it feels good when i am having a panic attack, but usually they make me feel all tired and depressed. end up feeling depressed for the next day or two also, i dont care too much for benzos, but if i had to choose id take valium over all of them. i find it to be the most recreational, plus i like that it has muscle relaxing properties.

i agree. benzos make me feel good but not euphoric. i don't think i can go as far as to say benzos don't cause euphoria because for me they can cause about the same amount of euphoria as i get from a few beers. a mood lift basically. but it's definitely the peaceful, relaxed, no worries feeling that makes them enjoyable much more so than the euphoria.

as my addiction to benzos progresses, i find that different benzos have different effects on me... tjey change...

for a small time, clonazepam was euphoric. now its back to feeling like tripe again.

"warmer benzos" tend to be hypnotic, longer acting ones. (temazepam)

i take 40mg/day of valium and sometimes a nice hypnotic benzo as a "sleep aid."

if anything, xanax would work best as a sleep aide, IMO... its anxiolytic effect is too short lived, its too powerful to really manage a working dose (for me), and then i get complete amnesia--alprazolam is the only benzo that can do this to me, that ive discovered so far....

xanax is no longer euphoric, in and of itself, however it CAN be enjoyed IN MODERATION, especially with other drugs: opiates/speed are particularly well matched.

since ive changed my answer on this poll like 3 times... i can safely say that i think its too subjective of a poll, because "right now" is involved. sometimes xanax is euphoric, othertimes not.

a shot of heroin is always euphoric, tho. :)

I get euphoria from 1mg, 2mg gets me real messy and eventually asleep.

A few hours ago i dosed 30mg OC and 1mg alprazolam, feeling nice, but the xan overpowered the oxy a little.

from the stance of a benzo addict: the opiod overpowers the benzo immediately and powerfully...
i was vomitting from 20mgs of OC and 4mg of xanax.

...that was without an opioid tolerance tho...

i dont know how it works if youre addicted to both. certainly sucks for you, though.

Still,
I'd say,
if you've never taken it,
or much benzo's before,
1-2mg should make you work it out pretty quick.

I'm on the opioid-trumping-benzo side. I've been addicted to opioids are various points, and have had on and off benzo addictions as well. Even if I were to take Codeine with any benzo, I will still feel the opioid more so than the benzo, even though I normally do not feel codeine at all.

I have rubbed shoulders with Opiate OD (shaky breath and all) by taking even minute quantities of Buprenorphine and a benzo. This particular combo is horrifically dangerous and I'm surprised it isn't very publicized.
 
hell yeah, nothing beats dropping 3 bars offf top, with a few beers, and smokin a few bowls.
