Film What's the Last Film You Saw? v. Tell Us What You Thought!

I watched The Den tonight, suspenseful, horresque film about an academic doing research on websites like chatroulette. You can imagine the shenanigans that ensue. I feel like internet chat footage types of films are beginning the replace the lost footage genre of horror.

Decent watch. Wouldn't watch it again but it was an entertaining 76 minutes.

I saw this last night, mainly due to Transcendence (the movie I had initially wanted to see) had received such poor reviews. In retrospect, I think I would have been better off seeing Transcendence. Divergent was ok. Just ok. Nothing stands out about it in my mind.Hell, I'm still not really even sure exactly what a divergent is in this movie. The society split people off in different factions. The main character's test showed she was a divergent, but she was told by the woman giving the test to not tell anyone, because they kill divergents. Why? I still don't know.

Hell, if it's so important that no divergents slip through, why not have the test monitor their results as well as the final test did? Why wasn't the test set up to automatically flag someone as a divergent? Why was Dauntless so goddamn silly? They're supposed to represent the police faction in this movie, yet they came off as street performers, jumping from moving trains and running down the streets, prancing around like idiots. The more I think about this movie, the more I dislike it.

^thanks for the review Frankie, I was actually wanting to watch divergent as well but decided Noah is better to watch because of Black Saturday. I still want to watch it but ill wait until I can download it.

Transcendence, really need to see it again after I dose a tab or 2 of high quality lsd. Not a widely accepted movie but there is a deep message hidden under all the nonsense.

Are you ready for the singularity? ;)

Don't do it, Maya! You're too young and beautiful to waste two and a half hours of your life!

Just watch this

And save yourself some time.

I almost forgot. If I see one more goddamn movie in which the male character is either dying or under someone else's control and the female character saves him by saying, "I love you!", I'm going to track down the writer, knock on their door, throw a jar of semen in their face, and show them what the power of love really is all about.

New Captain America movie. Quite a fun flick I must say, enjoyed it more than I do most superhero movies. The action was awesome, and the story line was rather engaging, and a sequel seems to be feasible (like they wont fuck up all the cliffhangers)

I just finished watching Zulu (2013), starring Forest Whittaker and Orlando bloom. The movie is about Ali Zhukela (Forest Whittaker) who has a painful past who is working as an investigator with Brian Epkeen (Orlando Bloom) to solve a murder of a young woman who is a daughter or a football coach. I will give the movie a 4 out of 5 stars for the storyline. The movie is brutal but thats just how I like the movies I mostly watch to be.

New movies I watched are Enemy and Fracture, both of which I recommend and made threads about here. I also got Rolling Thunder lined up since i heard it was good.

Other than that i saw paid in full last week, which is definitely top quality stuff

I wouldn't watch Noah, but to me it's a trip to think of how to most christians believe this really happened. It's not that they are stupid, they just take as granted that it's bible history so it must've happened somewhere along the line. They just don't give it much thought, like they believe the whole story on jesus and all the events in the bible. It's actually the minority of them that preach an understanding of the bible as symbolic and not factual and who comprehend that almost none of it happened, it's a message not a biography or a historical account.

People who have seen the movie thought, both catholic and non-catholic told me it's absolute shit.

Saw The Conjuring last night.

I wish someone would conjure up a decent horror film lately, amirite?

I was gonna watch this but I read someone saying it was more of the same, and I really hate a by the book horror movie so seems i won't be missing out on anything really

I looked up this film today and remembered i read it was good somewhere, well turns it out was it from you. Too bad it's very recent, you must've watched it on the screen cause I can't find any releases. Might be good.

^I agree!! I think i have watched that movie three times and even if I watched it again I will never get tired of it. It's like the Donny Darko movie =D

I watched I Frankenstein last night. The story ugghhh nevermind but I just love movies about angels and demons so I still enjoyed the action part and the effects.

I watched a film about genetically engineered sheep that could turn people into sheep-zombies. Black Sheep, I think

Was not as terrible as I expected and hoped

sounds like you were loving your sunday, Joe.

The Time That Remains

i watched a little over an hour of this two nights ago, and then the rest today. not the best way to watch this movie. for the first part, after a while i was thinking, "i get it. i'm ready for open ending." then, watching the last bit, it was like a time bomb. knowing it was gonna end any moment and struggling to figure out whatthefuck was what before that open ending. i don't know how i did. i watched this movie wrong. i think it's alright.

The Great Beauty

opening scene is top notch. love how it feels so surreal, and then slowly reveals reality. on many levels. good movie. pretentious. if paul thomas anderson had been raised italian and discovered lsd late in life. i've seen this guy's other film, This Must Be the Place, liked it and was surprised by my reaction, but apparently did not post about it and don't remember much more.
