Les fragments d'Antonin, loved it.

Grave Encounters

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1703199/

Lance Preston and the crew of "Grave Encounters", a ghost-hunting reality television show, are shooting an episode inside the abandoned Collingwood Psychiatric Hospital, where unexplained phenomena has been reported for years. All in the name of good television, they voluntarily lock themselves inside the building for the night and begin a paranormal investigation, capturing everything on camera. They quickly realize that the building is more than just haunted - it is alive - and it has no intention of ever letting them leave. They find themselves lost in a labyrinth maze of endless hallways and corridors, terrorized by the ghosts of the former patients. They soon begin to question their own sanity, slipping deeper and deeper into the depths of madness, ultimately discovering the truth behind the hospital's dark past...and taping what turns out to be their final episode.

It's about as bad as it sounds. It did make me jump a few times and it's pretty creepy at parts. Other than that I wasn't really feeling it.

had an 80s cult scifi day.

TerrorVision

when this started i thought it was gonna be a good one. had style and a cult vibe to it. but it turned out to be a very boring movie. the plot just isn't there.

The Toxic Avenger

this was more entertaining. vile and silly, but entertaining. the dialogue often goes for this blunt humor. made me laugh. you see, you're blind, sarah. you don't know who i am. i'm really the monster-hero you've heard about. and everyday i go out and i mash people!

couple of blurays
akira: awesome of course
let the right one in: very nice take on vampirism

superheroes

interesting doco, pretty funny too. ... and strangely inspiring.

I'm a Cyborg, But That's OK

i liked it. at first it seemed a little too generic indie, but it develops personality. the lead girl looks weird as fuck, and she is adorable. while it is certainly not a masterpiece, it's nice and has a few strong moments. it's the kind of movie i am often in the mood for. sad and pretty. i definitely recommend as something light.

Melancholia

most beautiful opening and ending. real good, may seem slow at first but it works. i loved seeing the relationship with the sisters and how they comfort each other in times of struggle, with depression and the coming apocalypse. charlotte gainsbourg and kirsten dunst deliver. well done, Lars!

How could I have only seen this gem now?? On cable no less! But no matter. I love getting surprised
by a damn good movie when I least expect it. LOVE.

The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo (2009)

Pretty good story and film. I'd like to read the book now. Didn't know anything about it before I saw it, so wasn't really sure what to expect. I did not realize that I'd be reading subtitles for two hours, but that didn't really bother me. The rape scene was quite disturbing, moreso than Kids and Clockwork Orange.

The main female lead, Lisbeth, was sooo hot. She captured the dark, mysterious look so well. She was in some damn good shape too! =D

The Invention of Lying (2009)

Heard mixed reviews about this, but I found it fairly enjoyable. Had some funny parts, but it also seemed slow at others, like it was dragging a bit. It was definitely an interesting concept, but it was hard to get into that universe. The movie focused so much on people finding a genetic match that I found it hard to believe someone like Jonah Hill's character would have existed. I feel like we would have developed different where essentially everyone was attractive or where humans have no self-esteem or are impervious to criticism from others.

Phoebe in Wonderland

watched because of elle. the movie is a bland, generic attempt to get the heart-felt response from its audience. but there isn't more than 5 minutes total when elle isn't on screen. and even though she plays a Lifetime Channel character, she plays it well.

Limitless

Bradley Cooper did a more-than-decent job of carrying this flawed, but interesting film. As one who's been there, I can imagine it holds a lot more resonance with those who have battled addiction in their own lives. They didn't take the speculation as to his potential as far as I would have liked to see, but this was probably because they decided to spend that time making the plot the center of the story, rather than the fangasms we see littering screens these days (I'm looking at you, A-Team).
