Megan is Missing

I heard about it through the "most disturbing film" thread. The subject matter was disturbing, no doubt. One of the most disturbing films ever? I don't think so.

Just watched 'A very long Engagement'.. absolutely loved it, the whole film is like watching visual poetry and the cinematography creates a very fantasy picturesque atmosphere, especially with the war scenes.. somehow..

Y tu mamá también

i remember watching trailers for and wanting to see this movie when it first made its way to the states. took me a while to get to it. i would have liked it a lot more if i had seen it back then, at the cusp of my adolescence. it wasn't bad. it's got a good message, there is a lot to do and a lot to miss out on in life. made me wanna get laid. but i often found myself waiting for it to be over.

also. the movie dialogue was chatty and the subtitles were poorly timed. bad combo.

^the bluray to that just arrived from quickflix. next couple of days i'll jump on it.

loved it - not exactly the setting and genre i was expecting -
i forget his exact words, but thats what the "director/choreographer" wanted;
minimal modern & effective...
shivers

Delicatessen

Interesting and quirky film. Didn't expect a movie about a cannibal run butcher shop would make me laugh and smile.

All in all I give it an 8/10

The kid, liked it.

Me also...think the fact its based on a true story makes it all the better.

The Tree of Life

I was going to turn it off after about 30 mins and some fastforwarding...then it grabbed my full attention and I became completely engrossed when the boy was recounting his childhood experiences etc- it was beautifully done... it then unfortunately started to get disjointed again(in a kind of cliche'd way-like it was trying, too desperately, to get some artistic recognition ). It got pretty kind of corny; the whole set up on the beach etc was really drawn out, unoriginal and unmoving.
Some lovely visual shots. It had so much potential. But overall..meh

On a side note:I really think Brad Pitt is over-rated as an actor at this stage. Still think unless he plays a very distinctly disturbed character he has little talent to offer, except for a few 'Blue Steel' poses.
