love from gaspar noe. total miss for me. the explicit sex after awhile just feels like a gimmick and then you're left sitting there for 2 hours thinkin like "fuck how much longer does this drag on..."

compare it to "blue is the warmest color" the way it explored/showed the relationship between the two leads, you felt something and cared about the characters. in "love" ya feel nothing for these characters and just watch people you don't care for doin it... obvs more enteraining content for that IF YOU KNOW WHAT I MEAN

Anyone see Spectre yet? I was kind of disappointed with it. I definitely had high expectations after Skyfall, but this seemed a bit drawn out and Christopher Waltz wasn't in it that much. Javier Bardem (Silva) was a better bad guy. Guess it would be hard to follow up on that and can't have the same storyline every movie.

They do reference the previous movies with Daniel Craig as Bond quite a bit. It won't affect your ability to follow the storyline, but it will add to it if you've seen them. I haven't seen Quantum of Solace yet, but they referenced it at least twice, possibly more since I haven't seen it.

Xavier was an excellent vilian.... Haven't seen Spectre but I enjoy the edgy Daniel Craig Bond. I happen to own Quantum of Solace. I also enjoy the films after reading "The Dark Tower" by James Rollins and finding out that the movies are based upon the viewpoint of a former agent. I suppose that is common knowledge but I wasn't aware

The Martian - it was pretty good. Matt Damon grows potatoes. 4/5
It kinda dragged on a bit towards the end.

Creed.
God dang...I mean...shit.
Been a while since I've been this shocked.
It was a knockout.
Went in expecting meh. Came out sayin' yeah.
Fury Road was great and all...but it was all sass.
Creed has plenty of swag, but it packs an emotional punch too.
Stallone 4 best supporting actor 2016.
^not kidding^
See it, folks.

I think that movie looks good. I like Michael B. Jordan too. He was a good actor all the way back when he was working the pit by the Towers down in Baltimore. Wallace was a good guy. Where the fuck is Wallace!?

The only bad Rocky movie was Rocky V all the rest were decent movies. I've been impressed with a number of reboots of movie series from the last few years. Rocky Balboa was good and the newer Rambo was entertaining. Also like you mentioned, the new Mad Max turned out to be a great movie.

Yeah, its amazing hes gone from little scrawny wallace in the wire to the beefcake he is now. Theres at least two or three other Wire people in Creed, as well.

^ I will agree with everyone above by saying Creed blew me away. Being a huge fan of the Rocky series growing up, after being dissapointed with the sixth installment to the series Rocky Balboa, I thought really? Appolo Creed's son? Wow. Then I saw it in theatres on Thanksgiving and left raving about how good it was :) Very nice.

I watched Eyes Wide Shut last night, a Stanley Kubrick film starring Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman. Different then other Kubrick films...that's for sure. Plenty of beautiful women to look at, haunting music and atmosphere overall, beautiful scenery and imagery, but the ending seemed bland and had me looking at the screen stunned that it had ended in such an abrupt way. A lot of the scenes seemed drawn out. Hypnotizing nonetheless, will have to watch again to pick up on what I may have missed with my first go around.

To those raving about Creed, how would you say the film would stand for someone who isn't a particular fan of the Rocky series? I mean sure, I enjoyed Rocky and Rocky IV, but I really wouldn't consider myself a fan of the series, so I won't be walking into it with any Rocky fetish, no parallels connecting it to the previous films aside from a basic understanding of the storyline. In other words, do you think this film has legs of it's own, or does it rely on Rocky fandom?

(Will probably ask the same about the new Star Wars film :p )

I would say if you were able to appreciate Rocky and Rocky IV then you will definitely be able to appreciate Creed. You could never have seen a Rocky movie period and watch Creed, enjoying it thoroughly. That is as long as you can get into inspirational sports films. I actually left the theatre saying that was my favorite Rocky installment, though I was probably just feeling the high experienced after just seeing it.

Had me wanting to go out and start training again, something I haven't had the urge to do in a very long time.

It's been a really, really long time since I watched the old Rocky films. And I still haven't seen Rocky Balboa. I actually had 0 interest in seeing Creed in theaters, but my brother invited me to go with him and his fiancé, so I did. Was not expecting anything other than hopefully not falling asleep.

If that helps.

Final Hunger Games movie.

I read the books when they were spiking in popularity around the time the first movie was close to coming to theaters. It was easy to go through them quick, but the time lapse between finishing the third book and seeing the final part of the movie series was too long between.

Was sad seeing Philip Seymour Hoffman. Wish he got to film his last few scenes for the movie.

yes i did see Spectre. and yes, i was disappointed! but i'm someone who loves "job bond" movies - skyfall, on her majesty's secret service, etc. PB on the other hand, did not like skyfall and liked Spectre way better. i guess it depends on the bond you're looking for. nothing touches Casino Royale though for Craig bond.

but. Spectre had probably the most gorgeous car chase i've ever seen. i've never seen cars do something that beautiful! and i don't know shit about cars. i know i'll fuck anyone who can drive one like that though.

i watched magic mike xxl last night. probably the best movie of 2015 for me. i don't know. I've rewatched mad max for the 7th or 8th time to make sure. gonna rewatch xxl tonight. not as much commentary on the foreclosure crisis as magic mike one, but way more about human failures and "the definition of modern masculinity: channing tatum building furniture while dancing to 'Pony'." i'll take it.

saw 'the martian'. for me, significantly more enjoyable than 'interstellar'.

alasdair

Watched the ridiculous 6 the other night, it was retarded bad, you know you're burnt out when half the movie are try hard sex jokes

Seen Frontera last night, it was ok but was honestly expecting more

And then I watched rob the mob, it was actually a lot better than I expected

Saw this recently. Just wow. One of the best films of the year, the intensity of the atmosphere created throughout some of the scenes literally had me on the edge of my seat.. there was a real sense of brutal reality that followed throughout it where nothing was held back. It gave me strong impressions of Traffic.

This film cuts to the bone, would recommend.
