whats the deal with heroin ?

I use every other friday for the entire weekend. Trust me, I could do that shit every day if it was free and I didn't have to work....

Perhaps, if you have a trustworthy source, one could set mutually agreed upon parameters regarding frequency of purchase, and amounts. Sort of like getting scripts from a doctor. I suspect this relationship would be rare, but I've got something like this going on right now, and it works for keeping my use/tolerance down. The source happens to be one of my best friends, but the important variable is that I only go to him, no one else.

There is no such thing as a part time heroin habit, its a full time occupation.

^^^^^^yes there is.......I know plenty of people who do what "groovee" does......only on the weekends, or twice a month, whatever.....I can think of 4-5 regular heroin users that I personally know, who have NEVER experienced a full-blown heroin withdrawal, simply due to the fact that despite long-term use, their day-to day frequency of usage has NEVER been constant enough to cause a physical addiction....I was like that for a while, but eventually got sucked in.......

I really dont think some people on this board think their arguments through.

If it were to become legal- then a large proportion of society would be dependant on it, just to live their daily lifes- very veyr few would even get enjoyment from it.

If it were to become legal to administer it to those with addictions.... what would be the point in making it illegal in the first place. Society sees heroin as a VERY dangerous substance BECAUSE IT IS! Who cares if some people may have enough willpower to use responsibly for x amount of years- when someone taks that first rail, there is no way of knowing if they will be able to keep their use under control.

If it was to be legalised, it would have to be in the same way as methadone, you couldn't just have it on the self next to the asprin.

Pure heroin is less dangerous and has less side affects than methadone.
In Australia anyone can get on methadone without as much as a urine test to proove you are actually addicted to narcotics. A large proportion of society hasn't done this, so I doubt that they would with Heroin.

^I don't think many people would really want to get on a methadone program unless they already had a habit - it's not called "chemical handcuffs" for nuthin' ;)

Once you take a nice big shot of some quality heroin for the first time, and get that rush and that sedating high, your life will never be the same. IMO, it's just the greatest feeling in the world. It's orgasmic. :)

^^^^that's a pretty fuckin cool piece of literature right there......did that dude write that I wonder???

Certainly hard to get off long term methadone, I got off a 10+ year run with buprenorphine. After many failed attempts at reducing down to zero

My point was really, if they dispensed heroin in the same way as methadone the average person would not bother with it, and the level of use wouldn't increase. If fact in countries that do have H mantainence the level of use actually goes down.

Its really "the man" that makes methadone "chemical handcuffs"
If they just handed over 12 months worth of pills it would be much more acceptable.

Heroin to me.... well, I can say I wish I never met Lady H...

Currently trying to stop the usage. I guess I used to fill a void in my life, which wasn't too smart. Blocking out reality... that type of thing. Dope was there for me.

Oh is it hard to quit , Im trying, lord knows I am.

She's a lady to leave thats for sure, I moved 380kms away from my dealers place, Its the ONLY way I could leave her alone. At least this way I can see her when I want, not when she wants me.

( I can hear her calling out every payday even now )

Ronald, have you ever even done heroin? Seriously, I am curious.

Seems that some people that post in this thread have 'all the RIGHT answers'. I need to hang out with you fuckers, because you are so damn smart.

just a though, and not only aimed at Smythl

I hate the erctile superfunction on opiates, if I take a high dose it wont go down some times. It can be very unpractical, like today at the dentist office I realy had to concentrate.

Peace

LOL

Thats very funny "erctile superfunction" :) 8o :)

I'll have to use that in a sentence very soon :)

i also have to question the whole idea that there are lots of people out there that ONLY shoot dope on the weekend or on this or that day ONLY and that they have NEVER experienced withdrawal throughout years and years of "chipping"..im not saying it is impossible to CHIp, but i have talked to loads of people about drugs, many users, many ex-users, and many NON-users, and i still havent met ANYONE that knows someone that has "chipped" on and off for longer than 3 months that didfnt end up getting hooked bad.. i have seen very smart, strong peeps get hooked, and i have seen a good deal of idiots as well..once that nasty physical addiction kicks in, that is when the nightmare begins..i was never a street junky, and never robbed for my habit, as i was damned lucky to have excess money sitting around BUT if it wasnt for my family, i likely would have ended up on that "doomed" route sometime in the future..

i often wonder WHy a substance like HEROIN was created..a temptation perhaps??i dunno, its truly the BEST of both worlds, there is heaven and there is hell..when ya start using, the heaven ya experience is beyond belief, and the hell ya feel upon withdrawal isnt that bad BUT the more ya keep using, the tide shifts and the heaven ya experience dwindles and dwindles and the hell ya go thru grows to extreme proportions..

LEGALIZED HEROIN??i have thought about this as well..i dunno what the solution is to the drug problem..legalizing it would definitely keep people from ruining their lives though...

Damn right! What people pay on the streets for a £10/$20 bag here in the UK the NHS (National Health Service) get for about £1/$2's. I know that were not allowed price threads, but I'm comparing prohibition to legislation here, and if you look at it like that, it would cost about as much as a cig' habit and how many people steal/murder/become homeless cause of cig habit? :\

After being addicted for 6 months and successfully learning how to chip without getting addicted ... the drug has lost most of its meaning to me and isn't as fun anymore.

well heres how h worked for me : 8/72 rule ... you can use in an 8 hour block every 72 hours to avoid physical addiction ... so basically twice a week with three days inbetween each day ... however i found to avoid psychological addiction i have to adhere to a once every two weeks maximum rule ... once a week was really playing with fire it really makes you psych addicted and your constantly awaiting that day and thinking about it ... then once your doing the 8/72 thing its just a matter of time before your fucked ... then again ... this is just how it worked for me

yeah its great if you are good with self control it can be a managable addiction.

if not... some problems might occur.

Some people just don't like the effetcs of opioids. And some do...

Oh, and heroin addiction and self contol don't go hand in hand... :X 8( :(

Once you're an opiate/opioid addict, you're in, for life. Think long and hard if you really want to venture into dangerous waters...

I used heroin recreationally for about eight or ten months and never got addicted, although keep in mind I never injected.

I like heroin. It's fun, but jesus christ, heroin is not shit you want to be fucking around with in my opinion. I'm a middle class boy with hands as soft as silk and the heroin world would chew me up and spit me out if I got too far deep into it.

Heroin is not worth the effort. Controlling an addiction is not worth the effort of getting high. It's just drugs...getting high on heroin isn't worth all the shit that comes along with it. By which I mean the addiction, and the people you tend to have to go through to get it.

I played around with heroin for a while and I'm never touching it again. Hopefully.
