whats the deal with heroin ?

neither one is great for bangin'. MSIR seems to have so many additives in every tab that they're hard to milk. I prefer 30mg Roxicodone, personally. It still takes 10-15 of those to get a good shot off, but I find that they're easier to work with.

I'm not a big fan of oral morphine products. Maybe that's just me though.

Prescribed methadone is more cost-effective.

When I was trying to get into a methadone program, it was $600 a month and they recommended partaking for at least 2 years. That's $14,400.

I don't see where it's significantly more cost-effective.

Methadone or bupe is $5-$7 a day in Australia, free (bulk billed) doctors visits.
Compare that to the price of H per day.

Still methadone is nowhere near as nice as lady H

Why is it that just the mention of H makes me yawny and start feeling for my wallet.

yeah its great if you are good with self control it can be a managable addiction.

if not... some problems might occur.

or you might not like it. some people try it and wonder what the fuss was all about...

the way i look at it is there was my life before i tried heroin and my life now...

my life didnt go down the tubes all in one shot like an anti drug commercial would make you believe...im not homeless, i have all my teeth,

its just once i felt the way i did with that first rush i got from shooting H I knew there was no way i was going to be able to just put down my gear and forget that i felt the way i did.. it was simply amazing

every aspect of my life was enhanced and more enjoyable high on it, yet with its legal status and price you can be forced to live the junky lifestyle should you feel the need to indulge more than you can handle

it is really rival to no other drugs in my opinion... i was very big into drinking and smoking crack before i tried h.. and while i will only do crack when i got h to cushion it... i really have no desire to use cocaine or alcohol anymore, i just concentrate all my moneys and efforts on heroin.

it really is a shame that our laws and society are the way they are because i can honestly say i would lead a totally happy, productive, and enjoyable life if H was able to be prescribed to us... it's really society that makes a junky a junky, not the drug, and not the actual junky in a lot of the cases... you go to na meetings and meet the cleaned up junky you will meet a lot of genuinly nice and sincere people who just got caught too deep.. cause the downside of dope is it will take you places you never thought you'd be.

i would go back every time and try it again if i was given the oppertunity

sorry for the rant, i felt i needed to get that out..

heroin=morphine, If heroin wasnt converted to morphine in vivo it wouldnt do anything, and yet you never see commericals that depict the evils of morphine and the archfiends that it creates.

just wanted to agree with the others who warned about how you never know who is going to get addicted. i chipped on and off since 1990 and never got addicted until 2004. i thought it couldnt happen to me, that the force of my will was stronger than the h. the thing is, this year i stopped caring about my life for a while, and thats when it got the better of me. ive got it under control now, but i didnt for about 9 months.
yeah, and like staind rose said, some people wonder what the fuss is all about. ive turned on a bunch of people who just didnt get it, they said it just made them tired or relaxed, no big deal. the first time i did it, i was like " where has this been all my life?!?!" if you react that way to it, you should proceed with caution.
all in all, its a pretty fucking great drug. beats the hell out of being sober.

I think the greatest issue with heroin is that it is nearly always smoked or used intravenously. When you take into account it is an expensive drug that will rob you of all your money/possessions then it is a recipie for disaster.

^^Suppose all these problems could be alleviated, do you still think that narcotics are THAT terrible? My main concern is that I have always associated heroin and tramps 2b one & the same :(

I've found addiction is a funny thing, I used morphine for a good 12 months while I was upset when they were all gone, I wasn't physically addicted. 12 months on H I was totally addicted.

You don't know until its too late :(

shit man it must be worth it. my friends dad has been using for 30 years. he's lost his family, lost the job that he loved, gone to jail for it. it must be that good eh?

the torture some of us put ourselves through. going through horrible withdrawals, not being able to sleep at all, shaking and throwing up violently, feeling so low you want to put a bullet in your own head...and to think that after this personal hell finally ends, we (myself included) go RIGHT back to the substance that caused all of this? try and figure that one out.

The thing I have noticed with Heroin is that most people's expectations are just too much.
It doesn't even come close to the best feeling in the world, no it's not better than an orgasm. The feeling, the euphoria, the talkativeness when others are around (I very rarely use enough to nod, I also don't I.V.), the immense confidence... yeah, it's all good! But, it's also false.

It's the same thing as when you were a kid, it was good fun going to "amusement/pinball parlours" and all. Alot of kids used to love it! You'd have the kids that would play games (remember streetfighter 2 amongst the asian kids?) on the weekend and stuff in moderation... then you'd have some of the other kids that would "wag" almost everyday of school to go out and play these games.
Same with drugs... You have your responsible users and obviously your irresponsible ones.

I still can't see anything that's that good about Heroin, that justifies the sometimes immoral actions some Heroin users do in order to get their next fix. If you got it in you to be a common street urchant, or theif/murderer... then you got it in you. If you don't, and have good "moral values" and a consciounsce... then I don't believe crime is necessarily inevitable, if one wanted to support his/her habit.
..and that's another good reason why it should be legalised, yet... sanctioned through prescription to those who need it. It's the Heroin alot of the users want... not the "rush" they get from running from the coppers.

The REAL euphoria only happens with IV use IMHO,
Sure you feel it, but you don'y really feel the instant taste in the throat and rush, alot of Male IV users actually "bone up" after a shot.

I've gone to alot of trouble to get the money for H, nothing violent, but not something I would now do.

Yes it should be legal, it IS prohibition that forces people to get the H any way they can. When you are physically addicted its much worse, You'll do ANTHING to feel normal.

Thats what the "straight" people don't understand, after a while you are just trying to stay one step ahead of the sickness that comes with withdrawl. Actually getting stoned and enjoying it is a bonus that sometimes happens, usually 5 minutes after a shot you just feel normal and have enough energy to do it all again.

Also, I.V. ... or not. An addiction is an addiction. Sure you're not feeling the intensity you would from I.V.'ing it, if you were to say... smoke it or snort it. But, once physical addiction sets in, is usually when the drug starts to become most troublesome in one's life. I've still met "smokers" or "snorters" that have very REAL addictions.

Each to their own in the end...

Oh yes an addiction is an addiction no matter how you got there, makes my skin crawl just thinking about it :(

Happens everytime for me, and not just one of those half ass hard ons, one that could break wood.

I hate the erctile superfunction on opiates, if I take a high dose it wont go down some times. It can be very unpractical, like today at the dentist office I realy had to concentrate.

Peace

i like heroin. and i think most poeple who tried heroin more then a few times will agree.
now, liking somthing can have many levels to it. from my personal expirience i have never seen a heroin user stop using completely for the rest of his life.

anyway, what im tring to say is that once you did h and started to like it you will always like it, and this sence of pleasure a few seconds after taking the neddle out, you will always remember.
now what kind of person u r and ur surroundings have a heavy part of your using habit.
do you like chocolate? do you like tobacco? do u like coffee? until what age did u suck a succer? can u point any kind of addicctions u have?
these kind of questions can start to help you see how are ur using habits for other things wich can help u see ur addictive potential.
this questening needs to be made a truthfully and scencere.
after answering these questions ask yourself if its a good idea that you start using H.

'once a junkie, always a junkie'. i find this sentence to be true. not a jnkie in a way that is homless and in bad condition, but just a heroin lover. heroin will always be in the back of a user head, the conceqences of that can change from person to person.

just my thoughts

^well put D_N

From my perspective, I'd like to see some thoughts on what you do to prevent habituation. As has been said - no-one (or nearly no-one) starts using any drug (heroin, ciggies, meth whatever) with the intention of getting hooked. But I haven't read come across any tips/tricks for avoiding dependence. It seems to be mostly down to luck. I would have to say that personally, my avoidance of dependence on various drugs has been down to circumstance, at least in part. On the other hand, there are drugs that I have found myself using far more than I intended, just because they were available 24/7. There must be some "early warning signs" that could make it easier for people to avoid getting habits

when i wrote this sentence it is because it is true to some extent.
this way i mean u will always like the sensention h gives u and its a hard thing to forget. this is all. i thought i said that... 8)

anyway, i think self observation and self disiplent is the only way to aviod adiction. some people put some rules down. some times they stand by the rules, but mostly people start to round corners and give exceptions, untill evry shot is an exception and u forget about the rules u put before.
for me that is my warning alarm. the moment i forget about the rules i put before. personally i put the boundry in a bag or two every 3 months.
this way i find i have enough time to forget from h untill the next bag is du and no phisical addiction is noticed. maybe a little hard to get out of bed in the morning after the two bags finish, but it comes up to that.

Perhaps, if you have a trustworthy source, one could set mutually agreed upon parameters regarding frequency of purchase, and amounts. Sort of like getting scripts from a doctor. I suspect this relationship would be rare, but I've got something like this going on right now, and it works for keeping my use/tolerance down. The source happens to be one of my best friends, but the important variable is that I only go to him, no one else.
