^ Good point. But this begs the question, have you seen Good Charlotte live?

man i felt good to learn that the random album i poached off a friend's mp3 player ages ago and loved was feist, and i liked it before the ipod ads.

yay for superiority.

INXS - Devil Inside

I've been listening to a lot of INXS lately. I don't know if it's nostaliga or because I still think they're really fucking great. It's probably a column a/b moment.

I mean c'mon, the lyrics...

Here come the woman
With the look in her eye
Raised on leather
With flesh on her mind
Words as weapons sharper than knives
Makes you wonder how the other half die

Pez - The Festival Song

So I turned on Triple J today, and I hear this abomination of a song. So fucking cliched, and the beat is lifted DIRECTLY off Atmosphere - Yesterday which is one of my favourite songs of 2008. That's right, a song from a few months ago.

Seriously, fuck you Aussie hip-hop, you derivative shite excuse for a genre.

Converge - Vengeance

This song makes me wish I had a viable chance of being an MMA fighter just so I could have this as my entrance theme.

As my mate said, "Hah, this song make ya wanna drop cunts"

I can't word it more eloquently.

The Doors - Don't You Love Her Madly

I'm stuck at the back of a shop listening to whatever 2CA FM up here in sunny Cairns is playing tonight.

Village People - You Can't Stop The Music

(no you can't bitches) :p

Listening to The Specials - Gangsters.

Because what this hangover needs is old school ska.

Why must you record my phone calls?
Are you planning a bootleg LP?
Said you've been threatened by gangsters
Now it's you, that's threatening me

Can't fight corruption with con tricks
They use the law to commit crime
And I dread, dread to think what the future will bring
When we're living in gangster time

Don't call me scar face

Can't interrupt while I'm talking
Or they'll confiscate all your guitars
and catch 22 says if I sing the truth
they won't make me an overnight star

If you haven't heard of a knife wielding maniac jumping on stage and murdering the band viciously, then no, I have as of now not seen them live yet.

Sparta - Collapse

Is it wrong that I think Sparta is not only better than The Mars Volta, but that I enjoy listening to their albums more than At The Drive-In's?

Yeah, controversial opinions ahoy.

Yeah because Atsomsphere is so more relevant to your life as a generation y Australian than any song about Australian festivals.

Cliched? How so?

Terra Firma - Hold it wide

Love this song, I would love to work out the chord progression for the riff.

1) Fuck relevancy. Someone could write a song about going to the shops to buy bread but upon getting there they find out that there's no more Helga's Wholemeal, so they choose something else instead. I can relate to that, but that solely doesn't make it mindblowingly fuck-awesome.
2) How many more songs do we have to have produced by Australian rappers about splitting a case with friends in summer listening to "grouse tunes"? Fuck, that's ALL there is other than "Man, this is how rad I spit". All shite, same cadence, same over-ocker accent.
3) Atmosphere is more relevant to me because I'm not an unemployed bogan fuck living in hicksville. Yes, I'm pointing fingers.

Pantera - Walk

Because I can identify with people who use two legs for mobility. Jesus.

Mate, that song about the Helga's sounds fucking awesome! I am entirely serious. I would totally buy a whole album just for a song about that.

And more songs about splitting cartons of beer for sure! I love that shit!

I live and breath the awesomeness that Aussie hip hop is. It is my greatest passion and enthusiasm at the moment. I cannot get enough of it. You should give it a chance at least :)

Of Montreal - Nonpareil of favor

You Ain't No Picasso wrote a pretty solid write up for these guys and this mp3 is on the site atm. I'll definitely be checking out the rest of their stuff. Maybe they can take the place in my musical heart currently reserved for MGMT.

Eels - Susans House

I really like the melody in the chorus of this song.

Actually, I dedicate this song to Preacha, and any other aspiring troll out there.

It reminds me of him for some reason.... can you figure out why?

David Bowie - Rock 'n roll suicide

The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust anad the Spiders from Mars is pretty close to my perfect album for early evening slightly drunken internets. Time takes a cigarette.

I bought a David Bowie Concert DVD yesterday. Its awesome

But right now Im listening to one of my friends who is a singer / songwriter.... her stuff is pretty amazing ,
www.myspace.com/tesshenderson

Kinda reminds me of Angus and Julia Stone Minus Angus and less complex lyrics
