What is the weather doing in your part of Australia?

hmmm i love winter, but the last few days have been exceptionally cool for Brisbane.
I collected firewood yesterday and spent last night in front of the fireplace with a few drinks before bed.
Tonight I went without the fire being at the pub most of the evening but I still have my sheepskin bed cover and lekky blanket to crawl into :D
 
Are we having record lows for this month? It definitely is the first real cold snap we have had here. I never use my heater and have had to the last 2 nights on and off.
 
Yep, I was right. A sixty year record was set for Sydney last night.

Sydney's week of cold weather continues, with the city recording its coldest June morning since 1949 when temperatures dived to 4.3 degrees.

The city recorded its minimum just before 6am, with the mercury sitting on 6.2 degrees at 9am.

Recently it was the coldest morning in Melbourne for two years but that doesn't seem like a huge deal to me.
 
^ Yeah, I've noticed that too, there must be some sort of explanation for it. Maybe on clear nights it gradually gets colder and colder as all the radiant heat from the day dissipates into the atmosphere.

I hate those really humid days we get up here, but I gotta say the weather the last couple of weeks has bugged me a bit. We had rain and we haven't had enough sun to dry things out. It's a total pain in the arse trying to get washing dry, my hoodie still isn't totally dry after 2 days in what limited sun we have had.

Argh I'd die without my hoodies, haha, I looooove them :D So hard to get any washing done up here too! I left socks on the line last week, went out to get them at about 7am and they were stiff as! All frozen and weird haha.. It's like I'm living in bloody Tasmania or something :P

I'm going on a holiday to Melbourne in the next few weeks and have been told by my Melbz mates that I'm gonna die a cold, painful death if I can't handle the QLD winter how am I gonna survive the VIC winter! :P Hehehehe

We were at 0 degrees here a few times last week when I finished work at 4. Walking out to find cars windshields all frosted up wasn't that great, haha.
 
plants were iced the other morning in CAMPERDOWN. in the burbs, my bro and neice have had to get a bucket of water to help get the ice from their car windscreens. wtf is goin on.

still 2 months of wintazzz left :(
 
to be frank, i'd love it to snow in sydney one day.

but i guess only because i walk to work.
 
^^ Oh man, snowboarding is the greatest thing on earth! Only tried it at the start of this year, but it is simply my favourite sport! I could do it all day! :P
 
Clear skies which are great for watching meteorites, but the lack of cloud cover means frosts. Currently 2.7 degrees :(

It got down to -2.7 in the wee hours of this morning. My car had 3-4mm ice crystals growing on it and there was a dash of snow on a local mountain.

Come on spring!
