Opioids What Happened To My Warm Fuzzies?

Just adding my anecdote to the loperamide issue. For me, subjectively speaking, loperamide rendered pod "tea" completely inactive. If I ground up so much as 25 large heads and consumed them... so long as lope was still in my blood it wouldn't do shit. I had to wait 4 whole days before pod tea.. or any other opioid.. would work.

YMMV of course. Don't take any lope for 4 whole days, then see if you get your fuzzies back or not.

Okay, I think I will try that^

However, I have to keep my WD's at bay or there's no way i can function at the level I need to. I put on 1/4th of a 10mcg/hr bupe patch (so 2.5mcg/hr) and took my last lope 12 hours ago so I'll try another oxy in 3.5 days, assuming my dose of bupe is too low to create a blockade effect. Anyone have any other ideas?

How much loperamide were you taking?

I'm able to get high on dope just fine after taking 10mg of loperamide, so I don't know.

Well maybe my sub doctor told my surgeon during my appendectomy to go ahead and put in a naltrexone capsule that lasts for a decade (joking, but seriously I don't know what the deal is), because I just don't understand why no amount of opiates can even make me feel even slightly different.

What is wrong with me? My tolerance can't be so high that not even 120mg of oxycodone doesn't even make me feel anything at all. I was only on .25mg of sub a day for four years? Please, someone, help me figure this out?

This is so strange, have I grown immune to opiates? I've never had a vivitrol shot or anything like this, and suboxone would get me slightly high if I took 1mg or more, but oxy, fentanyl, and morphine can't? WHAT IS WRONG WITH MY BRAIN!?

The only thing I can think of is tolerance that has built up for many years of bupe use, and I will have to go completely opiate free for a few months if not longer to get back to the point where opiates can affect my receptors beyond just alleving WD.

This is so frustrating, my DOC doesn't work on me anymore. :,(

Any theory at all would be helpful.

i wonder if it's possible for bupe to warp the brain's opioid receptors so that they can never work the way they were meant to again.

I know this all sounds ridiculous, but I'm just so frustrated and tolerance should not account for this level of anti-opioid action in my brain, everyone else seems to be able to get high on much smaller doses of oxy (etc) that have been on bupe longer and with higher doses. What is causing this anomaly? It can't be the blockade effect becausee I hadn't taken any bupe for weeks.

MAYBE, the patches (bupe) leave trace amopunts of buprenorphine under the skin tissue and it's takeing a long time for my body to get rid of all of it? So maybe it is a blockade effect? Even after the patch has been off for weeks??

I just want to be able to get high like anyone else, my stupid opioid-resistant brain. I'm about to just call my old sub doctor and ask him why I can't get high after his treatment. :P

Did you IV the Fentanyl? I find IVing (cut the patches into small pieces (I got a good rush from about 20-45mcg size pieces out of an 100mcg patch) the only ROA that makes Fentanyl worth while. The rush hits you like a ton of bricks, literally knocks you off your feet, you'll hardly have a chance to take the spike out of your arm but, I find with Fentanyl a noticeable and lasting overall high unfortunately doesn't last longer than a good fifteen minutes.

Actually I just had the 1200mcg lozenge...it just made me fall asleep and feel shitty for 6 hours. It was like an anti-high. I'd sooner get high on nyquil than that again. I prefer the more stimulating opioids, the ones synthesized from thebaine all seem to share this property IME (oxy, hydro, etc.).

Have you actually gone any amount of time without taking any opiates? I mean no bupe, no oxy, no fent, etc.... If you don't take any of those for a month, and still can't get high, then I would start theorizing again, but until then, just worry about taking a long break.

Yeah, that seems to be the most logical (and only) thing to do. Once I get through the acute WD it shouldn't be too tough.

I find this really weird, because Ive been able to get full effects from iv heroin less than 12 hours after dosing 24mg bupe, several times, and I've always been able to get high if I was on 2-3mg or less of bupe a day. Perhaps you've just Domt experience them in the way you thought you did? I know that's definately true with some drugs, I'll really like them and they'll sort of not do the same thing for me, or somehow feel different, (I'm thinking more of gabaergics and benzo's here). It's possible though that you're just really sensitive to the buprenorphine. The only way to know is to quit altogether, I'd just taper down and try to use some benzo's or gabapentin for the withdrawal/paws.

Well when I used opiates my first time, for a few years, I would get the most glorious high conceivable, and the effects never really dulled over time too. I know what these compounds did do to me, but now they don't only not do what they used to, they have no noticeable effects on me at all, and I am very sensitive to the feelings opioids give you. It's like I'm taking sugar pills.

Also, you should know that the PPT (morphine, codeine, papevarine, thebaine) didn't give me a rush or anything but 5 large pods made me pretty euphoric (no nodding or sedation, just a mild buzz really) so maybe something about morphine works a little differently then oxy to get the user high? I mean, I took what I believe was a smaller dose of PPT actives than what would be in 120mg OC, so could morphine be my answer since oxy can't do anything?

Maybe I should just forget about getting high, get my tolerance down, suffer WD's like a man, and then maybe I'll get high off all this again.

I can get literally any RX opioid now, so if anyone thinks what could make me high if oxy couldn't, let me know. Oxymorphone(opana)? MS Contin? ...heroin? Is there anything stronger?

Oxymorphone is very strong, stronger than heroin, and oxycodone.oraly, oxymorphone is 2x the strength of oxycodone, sniffing it is 5x the strength, and IV is 10x the strength of oxycodone, so if you get opana you're best off sniffing it if you don't inject, which I think you mentioned earlier that you didn't. PPT contains a ton of active metabolizes or so I've heard, so it could be a different alkaloid that is giving you the euphoric feeling, one not affected by buprenorphine. I've heard that some people have problems adjusting to bupe from the tea, because of this reason.

Also, I don't know if this would have any relation to you not getting high, but oxycodone, oxymorphone, hydrocodone, and buprenorphine are all derivatives of thebain. Perhaps opiates rather than opioids might give you more for the high you're looking for, so heroin, codeine and morphine might work?

I think though that if you can't manage to get high off of sniffing opana, then you most ikely will not get high off of any opioid/opiate.

Than try morphine instead, it's pretty much the same thing just weaker, and if I'm correct, you took heroin orally, so it really would be the exact same thing. In fact I think oral heroin might be weaker than oral morphine

I think you might just be on to something...I will see if morphine sulfate will do the trick, the will reassess.

the more opiates/opioids you take, the higher your tolerance will be.

i'm not sure why people are surprised - i mean, everyone metabolises drugs differently.
there are no set rules about "i took this then i took this x amount of hours later, and i was high"

there are so many variables, and as any addict will tell you - tolerance is a bitch.
just remember this, and be safe.
the best advice in this thread is the poster who said "take a small amount and work your way up"
taking big doses experimentally to try and get high is really dangerous. that's how people die.
warm fuzzies (the best bit of the opiate experience, for most - the illusive thing we all wish we could rediscover) disappear when you get a tolerance, it's how it works. the only way i've found to avoid developing too much of a tolerance is to keep my doses stable. when you get fucked up, it just pushes your tolerance higher, and makes it hard to get that feeling - or any feeling.

just take a break or cut down if you want to feel it again. just take enough to stay well, or taper down as much as you can. as everyone has already said, it's the only way you'll find them warm fuzzies any time soon.

I am seriously beginning to think lope does have some blocking effect, because it has been 2.5 days since I took some, and I just insufflated 20mg of oxycodone and can actually feel a very subtle buzz and maybe even the trace of a nod, but just barely.

This, however subtle and mild, is several times more apparent than when I took 2-3 times that dose (orally mind you) a few days back. maybe in a few more days I'll try 60mg oral oxy-c and see if the effects are all there with the lope all gone.

It could all be in my head too I suppose, I prefer a very dramatic, non-subtle, reality shattering high. I hate having to "concentrate" to notice anything.
