I make guys use a rubber all the time, no matter who they are or how long I've been with them. But seriously, do you ask to see a guy's "STD-free papers" before having unprotected sex? Sounds like bureaucracy to me! :D

I was in a monogomous relationship so we never used protection (i was sure i was infertile from my cervical issues and scar tissue) but now that im preggo I use no protection and it is a whole new ballgame. no risk factors at all=FUN TYME

^I would pull out to be safe because any contraceptive is not 100%, but I've heard of girls not fond of the "pull out" method and did not get pregnant with an IUD in. It can cause infections etc. though so be careful. and also, just cum on her face or something

I have never made my partner(s) pull out regardless of what method I was using (IUD and HBC) I'll take my chances with 1 out of 100 getting pregnant with perfect use. Having sex shouldn't come with paranoia if you and your partner use birth control methods perfectly. Having a back-up plan is always good and discussing options. This is also coming from someone who has absolutely no intention of having children ever.

I've had my IUD for a year and a half now, and I can count on one hand the number of times I've had sex since I've had sex. However, when I was using HBC, I never used any other method, and I was on the pill for almost 13 years.

i have had an IUD for 5 years and never had a pregnancy scare. its one of the most effective methods of birth control.

I have been taking the pill (3-4 different brands) intermittently for 22 years. The longest I have went without was to 9-12 months 1-2 times in my sexual career.

I like the minimal predictable painless periods. I wonder psychologically how it would feel to be off hormones but whenever I try the heavy painful periods are not worth it. An IUD an/or tubal ligation will produce the same result. No thanks.

I cannot stand condoms and now that I married I am never going back to them!

Being to able stay on the pill is why I stopped smoking at 32. My gyno told me at 30 I needed to quit or else at 35 she would not prescribe it to me due to increased health risks.

Remaining childless is very important to me.

I know everyone is different though.
Unlike a lot of people I react VERY well to the depo. 0 side effects.
Birth control has always been a good thing for me. Keeps me more stable, in less pain and even helps my skin!

Sorry, I didn't see your question! I still get my period.. When I got the first implant put in, I didn't get one for about 3 years, but after my second implant, I started getting my period as normal again. I don't know if the second implant was made up slightly differently (because it's longer in size than the first one when I feel where it's implanted) but some people I know have no periods at all, or have periods for a couple of weeks, then off for a couple of weeks, then back on again.

It all comes down to your own response to it, some people don't respond well to the hormones. My aunty had one put in and she started bleeding one day and, sorry if this is TMI, but she was wearing two maxi pads at a time, one on top of the other and would soak through both of them within the hour. She was highly emotional and ended up having it removed.

I will not let anything other than that happen unless I'm trying to get pregnant. I will not even get married and say, "Well, now that we're married what happens, happens." No. Even then I will wait until I've had enough selfish time with my significant other to enjoy him ; wait enough time to know that I am ready and fully mature (I'm only 22; I'm still too young to have kids in my opinion, especially not being married). I will keep practicing birth control until I am married, trying to get pregnant, financially capable AND emotionally mature.

Too many people don't plan ahead and they're too young, they're not in a seriously committed relationship, they don't have the kind of money it takes to raise a child (which is unfair to the child), etc. I might get barked at for saying that but I'm a little conservative when it comes to this. Of course, if you wanna get knocked up before you're settled financially and emotionally (as well as having a stable relationship), that's your choice

Anyway, I wouldn't take the pill if I didn't have to take other medicine already. I used to forget it a lot before I started taking other meds that I absolutely need so I won't have seizures. I used to take it lightly and then I wised up a bit. I almost never forget them now, and when I do, you can guarantee a condom is getting used. With that being said, I wanna try an IUD so there's one less pill to take; one less thing to remember. How does everyone with IUDs feel about them?

This is the same reason i'm on Implanon.. I'm too selfish right now to raise a child and I want to know that, if I have to leave my job to have the baby, I want to be further in my career so that i'll have a job to go back to and I want to be more financially stable. I know that I may never be as financially stable as i'd like to be, but right now, it would stretch things a bit too thin for my liking. I love my sleep ins and need 8-9hrs sleep a day to function normally.

Just wondering about all you females that are only using the pill, or other hormonal, or IUD type of contraception, do you worry about STI's as there is no physical barrier between yourself and your parnter(s) ?

back on topic, my partner and I are currently using the pregnancy method, in that we are pregnant, so its unlikley that she will become pregnant again at the moment
