I'm from Southern Oklahoma and the biggest epidemic here is methamphetamine, mostly crystal methamphetamine. It has been a travesty here when it comes to users are constanly seen in the public gnawing and biting down with jaw twitches. Dilated pupils in broad daylight. A drug bust happens at least every three weeks. Pot is the second most consumed drug around this. You can walk down the streets and often pick up on a hint of that unmistakable smell very often throughout my small population of around 4,000.
You would think with eight or possibly more churches within the town that it would be somewhat more safe, but I live in mostly country and the redneck powder snorting goes hand in hand in this town. I've never really let it get me down, but am extra careful around these parts.
P.S. I live above the Red River a few hours.
My mother was employed by the city recently, but is no longer working there. She experienced a lot of crime there in the few years she worked there.
