HPPD is far more severe than "it kinda gave me a lifelong vision problem"- it's a disorder, not a mild problem.
Shouldn't the severity be judged by the effect it has on a person's life? The worst effect I've had as a result of having feedback all over my vision is that sometimes it's hard to sleep at night, due to the colors I see and that don't go away when I close my eyes.
I suppose though that if I had my heart set on joining the air force, and could no longer do so because of my HPPD, then I'd be pretty pissed off
