What did you want to be when you were in high school?

an artist, a teacher, a psychologist, a lawyer, an actress

After a few years of doing phlebotomy, nursing, serving, and bartending - all the while painting in my spare time - i decided to follow my first love and am over half way through with my Bachelor's in Fine Arts. I hope to start working on my master's immediately after I graduate and while I'd love to make a living from my art I am pretty sure I'd enjoy teaching at the college level and the dependable income it would provide as well, so I hope to do both.

I still love psychology and take classes when I can, but it's not a profession for me. Acting is something I think I'd be good at, but have never pursued and have no desire to, and although my debate teachers pushed a career in law on me I have no desire to do that either even though I find it a fascinating profession. I've sat in the witness stand and that was enough for me.

I think my 10 year has passed, if not it's coming in the next month or two but I don't plan on going. When the 20 year comes around maybe I'll feel differently.:\

A mailman or a high school athletic director.
Neither dreams came true, nor will they ever.

Fighter Pilot for the air force. Tragic events led to me fucking up my eduction and turning to drugs though. still theres nothin more id wanna do than fly a jet
When I was young, I wanted to pilot a F117-Nighthawk. I was obsessed with that airplane. Later on, I decided being a tool of military might was unacceptable.

I never really had any sense of direction or long term goals in high school.... I was good at baseball, damn good, always on the all star teams. A growing sense of social anxiety destroyed those ambitions, I still regret quitting.

I've been playing around with a few different options lately. I know for sure I want to be my own boss, and whatever I do, I want to be able to travel. Some sort of freelance work that allows me to stay in different areas of the world would be ideal.

Starting my own nursery is appealing, or something to do with growing large quantities of plants. I would like to start some sort of business that provides a helpful service/thing to people....I've even toyed with the idea of becoming an airline pilot, but I'm pretty sure that means regular drug testing...out of the question! Psychology has always been an obsession of mine, but I could never see myself sitting in a chair helping people with their personal problems.

I always always wanted to be a veterinarian, ever since I was about 5 years old. Throughout school it changed occasionally, to marine biologist, lawyer, architect.
But it has always come back to being a vet.
I was a vet nurse for years before my current job and that was sufficient for a while, but I still want to be a vet one day.

It's never too late either. At this stage I'm thinking we'll have kids first then I'll go to uni to study vet science :)

I wanted to study fashion for years and even moved schools to pursue it, but then that faded because I got caught up in speed, and then I didn't really want to become anything because I knew I couldn't get the enter to get into anything at University. Deep down I always wanted to be a Barrister, always always always. I consistently had people around me telling me I would be a fantastic lawyer cause I was able to talk. And now that is what im studying toward and I've never been happier or more sure. :D

I wanted to be a fashion designer for a long time, then thought that was unrealistic so when I entered college I declared my major as psychology, realized it would never make me happy, so now I am in my last year of college studying acting. I realize that, as my original dream, there is a chance that it will not happen, so my backup plan is a zoologist. I figure between that and my theatre degree I could do something really cool like the Planet Earth series on Discovery :D But I'm really hoping that acting works out.

During high school I wanted to be a mathematician. Seriously, I would loved to do math for a living lol.

But now its a bio/ag engineer :)
