What did you want to be when you were in high school?

I always wanted to be an actor who played roles in movies that would make people laugh, feel good about themselves, or give them hope.

I wanted to be a computer programmer. Well, I got my wish and it's awful. I'm attending biology classes to hopefully go into a PhD program. If I can't afford it, hopefully I can pull in a decent salary doing something in the medicine field.

I wanted to work in advertising.
Now that I've been there and done that, now I know that my true
passion is teaching. <3 If only I knew that BEFORE I would've taken up early childhood education in university grrr.....but...but...but...no regrets.

i was torn between being an alexander shulgin/richard feynman/terrence macenna kinda person.

after watching a BBC programm where in a lab they could make ANYTHING (under 20~) grams levatate in an EXTREMELY powerful magnetic field I think Im gonna go back, improve my marks and persue magetics and chomoelectrodynamics. possible work at a boson/hadron collider

sending vessels into space on a maglev type device is absolutely stunning and inspirational

the most complexe and powerful computers compute/predict weather apatterns based on fractal geometry. but its still not an exact science LOL

Surprise answer: doctor. But the math aspect would have cut me out. I wanted to be a doctor when I was a kid. I wanted to be a psychiatrist. I completely suck at math.

My parents realized that I was probably better at being a lawyer. They were right. Then I went to work for a law firm and said "no fucking way am I doing this the rest of my life, especially if I have a title". Here I am, 8+ years later, burned out to the bone on work.

I may or may not ever become an attorney. If I do go to law school, I'd like to be a jury consultant. I'd also like to be an events planner. Lawyering and legal work in general is not happy work. Events planning is. I have an aptitude for law and I've been doing support work for attorneys for a lot of years. I'm good at what I do. But I never found it rewarding and always found it a little bit of a wank when the champagne was busted out after someone at the firm got a favorable verdict. I'm making better decisions these days.

I may yet join them rather than beat them, that said.

The law fascinates people. Go work in a law firm for a little while and see if you still like it. They're not called "sharks" for no reason, and I'm glad to be out of the water, but probably I will go back, and I will eat them alive. ;)

I wanted to either be a singer/guitarist or a stay home mother-- I accomplished neither of these things lol.

now 20 years later i just want to be pain free, enjoy my opiates and possibly go back to school to get a degree in Zoology/Biology and on the side as a hobby a Paranormal investigator. I can't do any of that till after i have my surgery but I'm not having my surgery anytime soon. But, just because I'm at home doesn't mean i can't pre-study for going back to school, and that's what i do, i study on line.

5 years ago when my Doctor told me i couldn't work i decided since i wasn't working that I'd learn as much as i can at home, and that's what I've been doing for 5+ years. I study whatever it is i am interested in and i learn whatever i can. The first thing i learned was computer graphics among other things.

But, this is only when i am pain free and relatively comfortable.
