Does look like a tasty dinner :) - I made a salad with the left over freekeh and had that with the remains of the roast chickens. Wasn't the sexiest looking plate of food but it was pretty nice.

If you have never tried 'Freekeh' give it a go - it's a bit like bulgur wheat but the grains are bigger.

I'll be making it again in a few days, I'll dedicate the next bowl of it to you <3

If I lived in the UK it would be nice for a few of us to get together for a BBQ and shenanigans - would be fun.

Had a rather delicious brunch consisting of a nice fresh ragu (onion, garlic, chili, bacon, chorizo and fresh tomatoes sautéed in garlic butter) served on double garlic, double butter garlic bread. Outrageously tasty if I do say so myself!

You've never watched star trek? Get it pirated ASAP and watch some bronze, silver, gold and out-fucking-standing acting.

Star Trek looks and sounds like Star Trek would look and sound if made in the 1970s. When people were impressed by automatic sliding doors making 'swoosh' sounds and "Negative Captain" was the height of chic technological speech.

Sorry, should I have used spoilers?

/unpopular opinion.

Given it was made in the 60s it was clearly well ahead of its time then as you clearly seem to agree ;)

Never said it was good, just that I was gobsmacked there were people alive in the Western world who have never seen it. FTR, I have a bit of a soft spot for all variants due to being a bit of a sci-fi nerd :o

I recognise your second paragraph. Regarding the first, slight irony it was set in the 2260s.

Hey my dad loved it. I thought it was shite. But it did teach me about "the final frontier" and Americans.

Ha! Star Trek probably says more about the American persona than most such shows - or rather it set a template that is most notable when it is (very) occasionally broken. Kinda weird mix of Imperialism with what appears to be some form of Utopian military dictatorship. As close to Heaven as it gets for the average American politicunt really. Still, some decent enough sci-fi concepts in amongst the suspect idealism.

Oddly enough, the "stardate" FACT! you brought to attention was a question in Trivial Pursuit last night. She didn't get it... but we're still 1-1 on aggregate - decider to come 8o
