What are you munching on? v. the cheese n' fish cake crew

Ahh you should man,I ignored all instruction and whacked em in the fan oven at 220 (preheated of course :P) and put em on the highest shelf, proper Yorkshire pud style, was actually a mission getting em out! but yea for a quid cant go wrong

banana and peanut butter sandwiches on brown bread i seem to remember where pretty good!

I do love a good Holy Toady, Fiend. Never had a pre-made one but recently sampled the fabled Bessie Aunt's plain Yorkie's (at the lovely Sadie's no less 8o) and was surprised at how good they were. As you say, for squiddles ya can't really go far wrong :)

Sadie: Will be having a pasta thingy meself tonight - out of a Homepride jar no less 8o - but am undecided on whether to add tuna or not. Tis a Creamy Tomato & Marscapone one though I think so would probably be suited and would also make it more filing and more scrummified too. Hmm... you may have convinced me :)

Sounds like a luuverly sauce to have with tuna. I like sweetcorn with my tuna pasta so if you had a tin of that kicking about I'd chuck that in as well. It would bulk it out a bit with the tuna. One of those sauce jars with tuna and pasta should do you at least 3 meals. If you've got some spare cheese kicking about chuck some of that on top. I'm gonna do mine with a Cheddar and Parmasan combo.

Jarred salsa is rank. I do enjoy the fresh stuff produced. Though I prefer to make my own. Easier than you think and MUCH tastier.

think i may haveto knock up a cheese ham and 10p chicken noodle omlette, whole thing is less then a quid to make, living on the cheap ftw=D

i also discovered that welches grape juice concentrate doesnt taste much different from cough syrup.

Concocting cheap meals from random things is fun! I've got 50 quid to live on for two weeks as I've got a bill to pay. Scraping out whatever is left in the back of my cupboards (not a lot, in fact I think they are empty) and living on soup and noodles is going to be fun.

Last time I managed to make a meal out of some fried potatoes and sage and onion stuffing as it was all I had.

^ Best way innit :)

When i'm flush with my dole though (I.e No bills due like this time) I usually do a online Asda shop and spend 25/30 quid and that lasts me til next dole day or past. Unfortunatly I have a virgin media and water board bill to pay, so its scraping by (or selling myself ;) ) for a couple weeks.

We went to Lidl late the other night, they leave any bread etc that has an expiry date of the next day out near the tills for anyone to take. We got 24 tattie scones, sun blest scottish loaf (my FAVE bread) some bread rolls and a loaf all to shove in the freezer. They only do it with bread, they give the veg/food etc to the local soup run. I think it's brilliant they do that, better than most supermarkets who cover their waste in blue dye, or try to make money on it.

Anyway, tonight I've made a lasagna from scratch. No cheating, even made the white sauce myself. It's almost ready. Just gonna have a puff on da herb to make it even tastier.

We'll do it eh!
