Cooking is a piece of piss. What you need is a slow cooker. Buy ingredients, throw in, leave for a few hours. Eat.

Made a spaghetti bolognese one time from scratch (well, near enough)

You mean you added some bought jarred sauce to the mince? :D

[JUMPTO]What's these new anchor buttons all about? [/JUMPTO]

What do these things actually do?? I just noticed them on the toolbar.

I guess in a long post you can jump... <--- click here

I count myself lucky, there is a chippy 5 minutes from my door which does fucking excellent fish and chips, always fresh, nice crispy batter, lovely chips, not a soggy mush. The only problem is getting parked, they're practically on a roundabout and there's parking for only three cars and there's always cars parked there. I have to go round the roundabout, do a fly-by to check the spaces, u-turn and back round the roundabout until a space is free. But it's worth it. I drive because I want to eat it ASAP in the comfort in my own home.

The kebab shop I go to also does fucking massive tasty doners with fresh salad, don't need to be pissed to enjoy it.

£6 for a fish supper and £5 for a large donner.

A donner is a donner, rank meat scraped off the carcass of the left over animals in the slaughter house once they've been stripped of all over meat then compacted back together into an elephants leg and chucked on a skewer for days on end being cooked over and over and over. Yum. :|

Oven. Buy a thing, throw it in, wait 15 minutes, eat.

Ready meals are shite and usually bad for you though. Full of fat and salt and usually taste bland.

Whatever, how about a "thanks knock"?

I love cooking, I'm actually really good at it, I make stir fries that taste much better than most restaurants let alone take aways, I'm good at making Mexican food as well, only thing is that for me it's more of a hobby, I like to read recipes, go to the market to shop, get politely pissed while chopping up the veggies, so I don't usually cook properly more than once or twice per week. I don't like to cook for my feeding/daily nutrition needs. For that I keep to basics, pasta with jarred sauce, bacon sandwiches, stuff like that.

I do have a morbid fascination with junk food though, but it's probably due to my borderline alcoholism

I don't really eat ready meals. Unless you count a pie, or a pizza or some shit like that as a ready meal. I don't eat many microwave things apart from the odd microwave curry, which can often be decent.

Donner meat is rank by definition, you're right. There's no such thing as good donner meat.

No, I mean I didn't totally make it from scratch because I didn't make the spaghetti myself. I did pretty much make it from scratch, no jarred sauce. I'd be fucked if I tried to remember how to do it now though. Prolly made it a few times actually, but you're talking nearly 10 year ago. Anyway, I wouldn't even attempt it now. Like I said, too much hassle. Last time I made it there was probably more joint ash than bolognese in the thing by the time I was done :\

So apart from pies or pizzas what else do you eat? I think microwave curries are usually shite. I think most takeaway curries are shite as well tbh, the ones round here all taste the same regardless of what you order and they cost too much. Home made curry, yum!

=D

Take away curries ARE usually pish, I agree. I stick to the veggie side dishes, can't beat a sag dahl, motor paneer, chapatis and a couple of samosas.

Lots of things can be cooked in the oven. Chicken, in various different forms. Fish (like, battered fish, chippy style). Sausage rolls. Bread roll things that you can then turn into dynamite baguettes etc. There's a massive variety of "stick it in the oven & wait 15 minutes" type scran.

There's quite a few really good Indian takeaways round here. Not the place I was at earlier, that was just a cheap kebab shop although it does sell curries. I'd normally phone a restaurant that also does deliveries if I wanted a curry.

Nothing beats a home made lamb rogan josh.

Sausage rolls

Loving sausage roll and beans or pie and beans recently. Not very healthy but fucking tasty. Lunch tomorrow I reckon.

I've been eating roll and pie since I was 12. Possibly one of the best foods in existence. Needs to be a proper Scottish morning roll with butter.

I've had one when I was at school, it was all the rage for a while. It was good.
