I like the way he smokes as well

French people can smoke. It's an art form and they have got it down. Sexy smoking bastards. ;)

Youtube is really failing me. It does not like my house music. No 'Pressure Cooker - Dave Robertson & Mike Healey (Filty Rich remix)' shame I like that tune. Not for me, I have a copy, shame I couldn't share.

Wow I found one it has got:

Butch - On The Line (Oxia Remix)

Not the cut I wanted but close enough.

Grrr Youtube. They haven't got the Matt Bayer remix of this next tune which I think is the best, the Fonzerelli mix isn't up to much so the original mix it is:

Mauro Picotto - Evribadi

^ tune Albion. My fave RATM ditty in fact. Did you see the video Dan posted in gibberings yesterday? The main riff is sampled in the Prodigy tune Smack My Bitch Up. I couldn't believe it either.

I have the line "were the renegades of fuck, were the renegades of funk" permanently on repeat in my head thanks to Weird Al Yankovic:

Rage Against The Machine - Renegades of Funk

Can't remember which polka compilation it's from or I'd post that as well.

I'll post a few, it's in there somewhere.

Albion do you like the Weird Al polka compilation tunes? I do:

Weird Al Yankovic - Polkarama!

Weird Al Yankovic - Polka Power

This is his latest one, not in here but most relevant:

"Weird Al" Yankovic - Polka Face

Might not even be one of those, there are loads and they are all ace.

edit. ffs it's this one:

Weird Al Yankovic - Angry White Boy Polka

Angry white boy polka is probably my all time favourite Weird Al tune.

And yeah, I saw that Smack My Bitch Up Ableton reproduction video...Insane. Props to the Prodigy boys, they didn't have Ableton. Some gifted sampling ability right there.

Ha! Weird. That's my favourite too. Know all the tracks like.

So all the sample manipulation the Prodigy did was hardware based? Impressive indeed. I do wonder what percentage of royalties from that track they get though and how much is paid out to other folk despite the sample being so far removed from the original recording it's unrecognisable.

Making Of "The Prodigy's Firestarter" by Jim Pavloff in Ableton Live
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6ZImvdZ3EZI

in this video Jim Pavloff shows how to recreate The Prodigy's Firestarter in Ableton Live. He describes the main samples and loops, which Liam Howlett used back in 1995 to compose this awesome track. This track was very hard to recreate, I've spent about two years making it sound llike the original track.

Love that, live versions of it on youtube are amazing

theyre playing at creamfields this year, tempted to go

The Prodigy - Poison Live Phoenix Festival 96
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y5j7xTR5Nac
