Lou Reed and John Cale - Songs for Drella

It wasn't me
I didn't say stick a needle in your arm and die

A Dream
I hate Lou, I really do

Hello It's Me
They really hated you, now all that's changed
but I have some resentments that can never be unmade
You hit me where it hurt I didn't laugh
your diaries are not a worthy epitaph

If I eally had to choose Iwould prabably choose this as my fav track of all time, the accoustic cersion i the Studio 150 album is well wroth a listen as well the lyrics are a work o genius on thats track:-

Waking up from bad dreams and smoking cigarettes
Cuddling a warm girl and smelling stale perfume
A hot summers day and sticky black tarmac
Feeding ducks in the park and wishing you were far away

That’s entertainment, that’s entertainment

Two lovers kissing amongst the scream of midnight
Two lovers missing the tranquillity of solitude
Getting a cab and travelling on buses
Reading the graffiti about slashed seat affairs

I say that’s entertainment, that’s entertainment

Down in the Tube Station is a close 2nd>

This is another Jam fav :-

The Jam - Ghosts

And

The Jam-Carnation

Yet more great tunes over the last couple of pages. I'll even forgive the excessive amount of Paul Weller. I used to own every Jam and Paul Weller album until some point in my late teens when I decided he was shit and sold them all to a boy down the corridor... I've softened my stance slighty and listen to the Jam every now and again. English Rose is a lovely song...

Anyway I'm listening to the genius of Will Oldham...

Bonnie 'Prince' Billy - Today I Was An Evil One

Paul Weller is more than somewhat of a fav of mine but as long as you dont start casting aspertions on John Lydon I'm OK ;)

Off to walk the dog maybe a bit more audio book (PKD Valis) this morning me thinks

Gravediggaz - 6 Feet Deep, just got to Defective Trip. SUCH a beast of an album, goes well with the crazy sunshine and temps.
