What Are You Drinking? V. Pretty Gay, Turns Out.

Frosty's + GBL was virtually what I lived on for a while not so very long back. Not the healthiest of diets but unarguably cheap and effective. I think I've sworn of Frosty's and all known relatives thereof now. Was drinking 6l per day at one stage and it did horrible things to me - horrible things to personality, liver and stomach. There's summat very odd about strong white ciders - they really seem to effect my personality in deeply undesirable ways. Make me very aggressive, very prone to mood swings and generally not myself at all. Dunno why it's so specific to white cider. Isn't just the alcohol content I don't think cos it doesn't happen with wines or spirits drunk at similar excessive levels. Stuff is just mad of nasty so induces nastiness I think.

It would seem to be a recipe for seizures. I know a fella - only a young fella at that (early 20s) - who has started to get occasional bouts of seizures and his drink of choice is also Frosty's (or equivalent). Really is unusually vile stuff is strong white cider :\

Alcohol Concern carried out a study a few years back, where white cider drinkers consistently reported panic attacks and vomiting blood among the usual symptoms of chronic heavy drinking.

It's bad stuff, and that's coming from a former Special Brew drinker.

I used to vomit blood quite regularly when I drank that stuff regularly. It really is incredibly acidic and can't be good for the stomach. I did have a stomach ulcer at the time anyway though so was perhaps not surprising I was puking blood. And yes, it was the worst possible thing I could be drinking with an ulcer.

I may have a pipette of gin shortly..yes yes I know I am on a drug holiday but quite frankly I do not count gin in my idea of drugs..other may but oh fuckkkk it off to the home bar....

A fine, warm, sunny afternoon for a beer. Largely triggered by waftings from dins cooking which smells scrummy. Also triggered by still being three bottles for a fiver at Co-Op at the moment. Is good stuff this Crafty Hen. Much prefer it to Speckled Hen and I've been a Speckled Hen fan since college days. More body, slightly sweet but not too sweet, extra percent or so ABV is a boon too - not so strong it's got the Frosty's effect but strong enough you know you've drunk booze. Seems I'm not the only person partial to it either cos it vanishes from the shelves at a rate of knots. Much like Henry Weston's 8.4% stuff was vanishing a while back - that now doesn't go anywhere but is actually quite hard to lay hands on Crafty Hen cos it goes so quick.

Triggering or what? 8o

Not that I'd normally mind being triggered beer-wise, but I'm seriously thinking about giving up even light drinking. As in genuinely, before I poison myself properly this time.

That's a nice drink for a day like today though, must say. The Golden one's very nice too. And Hen's Tooth if you can find it anywhere.

I've only just been made aware of Golden Hen whilst finding that pic but never seen it around here. Never heard of Hen's Tooth. Choice of beers is not that wide locally. Choice of anything is not that wide locally. Crafty has only just appeared on shelves. They're currently pushing various Welsh beers at both Co-Op and Spar (I mention these two a lot cos those are the only shops locally) but is all advertising push and no money-saving deals and they're a bit pricey. There are some good ones though - once they pull fingers from orifices and put a decent offer on 'em I shall indulge in patriotic drunkeness purchasing.

Innocent Pomegranate, Blueberry & Acai Berry Smoothie... it's the f*cking bomb! 3 Superfruits & it tastes amazing... it's expensive but I only have like 100ml because of both the cost & sugar content.

Thankfully it's been on offer almost constantly the past month in the Supermarkets near me. :D

As above only illustrated for the hard of reading. Is lovely stuff and on offer for £2/litre at Co-Op at the moment. As are the standard Innocent varieties (Straberry 'n' 'Nana ftw <3) but the "superfood" one tends to cost more usually so feels like a better deal. And is really very tasty indeedy.

I was just about to tell you two about Tesco's own smoothies that are infinitely cheaper but taste just as nice (and still count for your 2 a day).

Buuuut for some reason this product is currently not available.

Water.

I filled my glass up to the top before I realised I wanted orange squash and didn't want to tip it out so here I am.

That's the beauty of tap water though. Sometimes I'll fill a big glass up with water, take one gulp then throw the rest in the sink.
