What age do you think you will die?

I was reading Brian Cox (that television science guy) talking about whether you "live on" and he said one of the concepts of entropy is that nature always tends from order to disorder - which needs the least amount of energy. So why would nature create something that "lives on" that needs order once you die. The obvious thing is you just stop existing.

But then again I have seen dogs go into rooms where their loved ones died and instantly become upset so I would have to ask Brian Cox to answer that and stay fashionable.

second paragraph: why do we go to graves? failing that, they use their nose? if crime dramas taught me anythign its that we live bits of ourselves everywhere.

as for the entropy thing. yes thats true of isolated physical systems but i think these guys are presuming something nonphysical. i presume somehting between the 2. v v v high level and sophisticated, parallelised information processing that i don't think requires our bodies per se to work. there is no similar law for shannon entropy, but the 2 are linked via landauers principle etc.

I don't smoke, exercise and my diet is fine. I do take drugs pretty much everyday though, but despite that I'd at least expect over 70.

Hopefully not past 60 at the very latest, fuck sitting around all day like a cabbage whilst slowling losing all of my senses lol rather live fast die young as they say

Not past sixty? :\

Sixty isn't very old at all, and if you're losing your faculties by that stage then you're probably on your way out already. Besides which, we have some people who post here who are more quick-witted and lucid in their sixties than most of the twenty and thirty-somethings could muster at any age.

Don't you fancy a couple of decades of being old enough to look down on the youngsters yet still be able to largely live how you want to? I know I didn't at one time but the idea seems all the more appealing at the tender age of thirty and fifty-one weeks (precisely).

I'd like a few years getting a pension at least, don't want to spend my whole life working. I want to be bored of life and feel I got my most out of it by the end of it.

That'll change mate. Trust me :)

I mean really though, what has age got to do with anything? It's nothing to do with numbers, it's to do with how you feel. Like I've said before (many times), most people my age look their age, and more. But not all. I met a guy at a psytrance night a couple of months back in his 60's and he had more energy and life in him than a lot of the kids in there. OK, he was off his tits, but so was everyone else. Ask him if he wants to give up on life.

So sod live fast die young, how about just live fast, die when your ready? I prefer that. Then again I would I suppose :)

To be honest I think pensions won't even exist when we're old, we'll be working until we can't or we're dead. Pensions have been set up as pyramid schemes where one pensioner needs 5 people working for them to support their pension so we need to exponentially grow, then you hit a bit of a brick wall when the population stops growing.

The only real hope is to avoid as much tax as you can and get a few good investments of your own under your belt that you can sit back and live off of when you're old. Fuck paying into a pension scheme that will be bankrupt by the time it's your turn!

^ not past 60. ?
My boss is 69 , he works 6/7 days everyweek (hard graft) has a beer after work and some wine with his dinner.
He puts 40 year olds to shame , he's as smart as fuck , strong and witty.

always had a feeling that im gonna die in my 30's...

oh well lol

I don't mean the dog was in the room watching you slowly peg it after taking too much 6apb. I mean a dog can arrive at a place where someone it loved died and notice "something" in the "ether".

i used to think id live to be 100 but its suddenly become apparent my body is deteriorating faster than i expected eg. ive already got a dodgy hip at 29.

but you know, prof stephen hawkings is still going strong so theres hope yet. i wonder how long he will live.
