I don't think 20/20 is ruining the game at all, in fact getting it out there to a bigger audience which can only be good for the game. Think of all the money now going into cricket that was never seen before, advertising, contract deals for players etc.

Look what it did for the english premier league, as soon as that went on Sky, the clubs had more money to spend on better players and subsequently made the game more highly tuned, if you know what I mean, with more exciting games, bigger audiences.

It's only going to get more people involved with the game of cricket which I think is fantastic.

BTW, I think England might have a chance to draw but if Collingwood goes out early they are fucked on such a cracked pitch, especially when the reverse swing comes into play.

Aye Collingwood to play one of those ground out defensive watchful innings - almost reminiscent of Boycott minus a little style - however many detractors Collingwood has I reckon he's usually very dependable in a crisis - cue Collingwood clean bowled first ball

Yeah, he has done it before vs the aussies. Performs when it counts which is why he's selected. I'd put a bet on Collingwood to get a 50, what are the odds on that boss? I reckon it's about 5/6 or something.

There's plenty of folk who feel that the Sky money has ruined English football.

My issue with 20/20 is that it seems to endanger the Test form of the game, which to me is "proper" cricket. 20/20 is a bit of fluff...like watching beach football compared to the Premier League.

Pretty much how I feel . I am all for opening up cricket to more fans but 20/20 does not have the same appeal to me. I love the build up over 5 days that Test cricket allows. The gradual deterioration of a pitch with a spin bowler finding the foot prints left by the quicks, the appearance of reverse swing as the ball ages, having to decide whether to send in a night watchman. 20/20 has produced more creative and attacking batsmen so it is not without it's benefits but to lose a whole Test match just because they want to squeeze in 2 days of 40 overs is the real tragedy. Personally I wouldn't shed a tear if 50 over games were lost.

Day night Test matches may be the key. I would love to finish work and catch the last session under lights with a cool ale. They just can't get the ball to perform like the red one does. Seems like such a simple technological development that can't be cracked :(

I wouldn't go that far, but it's certainly not as interesting.

Good to see collingwood's appeal turned around.

They are playing the first match of the English season between MCC and someone in Dubai this year, under lights with the pink ball as some sort of experiment.

Fucking hell. Hats off to Bell and Collingwood for that scintillating session.

It's ours to fuck up from here.
