We Love Cricket Thread 2nd Innings

No coach, no batting, no hope. If you don't put them to the sword you should just close the doors at the MCC and start playing vigoro.

Tyman Mills 20 years old can bowl in the mid 90s one to watch for sure .

Why he thought it would be a good idea to do so ( 94mph !! ) at Englands premier Spin Bowler & nearly break his elbow i'm not quite sure about .

Youthful exuberance ?

Whatever the kid is fast knocked Bresnan on the helmet in the same over .

Tymal apparently. What sort of name is that? Yorkshire apparently. They have a great youth system to rival any. Apparently. Yeah if he's only 20, one to watch. Swann should have watched a bit more carefully anyway. More cotton wool for the lad.

That Bangladeshi or whatever he is got his Aus passport today. Took 0-100 in his warm up game. Bring him on.

he's pakistani, i believe

and his figures sound almost shane warne-esque. he got smashed around on debut also - and was not envisioned to be overtly problematic, to reknown players of spin such as mike gatting

a tad ominous? or just shite bowler? must be some reason he's been fasttracked the antipodean-dream

aussies have a few nice bowlers actually. a match for ours quite possibly, though the home conditions may possibly swing it our way. jimmy anderson is quite clearly the best pace bowler in the world when it swings

Well he's Australian now. Nationality, nationalism, nation anything...what a load of old bollocks eh BHM? ;)

They've fast tracked him because they are desperate and they are desperate because their attack is not as good as everyone is hyping it up to be. Their spin options are shite, hence the Pakistani.

hey, far be it from us to admonish colourful national recruitment philosophies. but i think they wouldve just opted for a generic non-spinning-spinner honest aussie lad in preference to blatantly shipping in a foreign national unless he was an order of magnitude better. but i suppose we shall see

Indeed he was.
I was gutted he didn't play in the recent Series that we Won .
Maybe they would have been better with him in the Batting Order , stop those collapses :D

Their pace attack is every bit as good as the English. Patterson is express, Starc is tall and a leftie, then you have plenty of swing options from Bird and Ryan if fit. Those juicy English conditions will be right up their alley. Need I remind you of Terry Alderman's love for the Mother country's conditions. He was pretty unimpressive back in Australia.

TBH i am aware that their pace attack has great Potential .

The spinner is no muppet either he has variation & some guile .

Don't kid yourself, they have no real spin option, but then again that never stopped the best West Indies sides. Their big problem is not having any batsmen other than Clarke. Watson, Warner, Hughes are great when the stars align but they all lack any mongrel or grit to save a potential batting collapse. You don't need centuries if the majority of your line up contributes 50 odd. Give me fighting spirit over flashy 9/10. Watson typifies the selfish lack of heart better than most. The biggest loss in the last 12 months was hussey.

Nah there is no Langer or similar .

He was ace 4 Somerset & installed a sense of Professionalism that was lacking . A true Warrior in every sense .

Cowen is a solid opener. Not flashy but willing to occupy the crease for a whole day. Rogers is a quality batsmen too, with a mountain of domestic runs. Whether this translates to test cricket I don't know. Their tail bats long, which has saved them over the last year or two. I still don't see them winning in England but i wouldn't be surprised if they are more than competitive at home after the experience.

Can someone explain Duckworth Lewis?

The India v Windies game started on time
India made 311 in 50 overs
Its sunny and does not look like raining yet Windies have been set a target in "38" overs ??
Wtf is going on ?? or am i missing something

The scariest thing is if the cricket is suddenly affected by rain you have to also put up with a women's mind thinking for some reason that you shouldn't still be watching television and drinking beer.
