We Love Cricket Thread 2nd Innings

I wonder if the bookies have a market on the number of times the cameras catch Cook picking his nose? Gah, he has to be the grubbiest captain in world cricket. I liked it better when the ECB chose the biggest toff as skipper.

Think we need 350 to win this. I'd be nervous leaving less than 300 anyway. And that is for sure.

More work to do. I hope we win the game tomorrow though as that is when we are going. :)

I think 200 would be more than enough. Clarke got out to a rubbish shot in the first innings so he is probably determined to score some runs but Watson is a sook, injured and already got a fifty this game, he is odds on to throw his wicket away. The rest of their line up is looking decidedly soft and their tail is a lot weaker without Patterson and Starc.

BHM it depended on the team. I preferred 10 or 12 but I was about 20kg too light for the Heineken Cup so they stuck me on the wing. I even played in the loose forwards a couple of times out in the bush leagues.

Fantastic. Really jealous of Le Mix, must have had a great day.

It all ended well, but at tea I thought we are fuked and if no wkt falls soon after we were thinking best be off to beat the crowds !

I did Speak to Jeff Thomson briefly also, that was great, he had no ego just mixing with the 'rest of us' near the bar ! .
Utter legend the 1st 100mph bowler.
Seemed a really nice bloke also.:)

Curious series though. Doesn't feel like a TYPICAL 3-0 UP WITH ONE TO GO DOES IT ?

Don't be fooled, that cunt owes a lot of money around my city. He laughs it off by expecting people to remember his exploits in the 70's but some serious people are pissed off with him.

The series is a lot closer than the score suggests. Take Bell's runs away and find at least one Australian batsmen averaging over 50 and it could easily be 3-0 to Australia. The series in oz should be a cracker

Well I was fooled/in awe then lol ! I'm surprised you are insinuating 'Thommo' is skint mind, but I'll take your word for it.

Agree on it been a lot closer than it looks also, but if you collapse like Australia have(twice in 4 Tests is terrible), then I suppose it does not matter that you have a good bowling attack.

And we have not played well either really, plus the wkts in OZ will suit Cook, Trott Prior and KP moreso than the recent ones in England. Cook because he cuts and pulls the ball well and Trott, Prior and KP because they are urrm Saffers and grew up on fast bouncy wkts.

Then you have the likes of Anderson and Swann to throw in along with maybe a fit and firing Tremlett and the match winning Stuart Broad, who incidentally will love been hated by the Aussie crowds, I think he will play better the more abuse he gets !
I'm not hugely worried about the urn staying down under unless we lose players through injury...

So yes, I would be surprised if we lost the series in OZ but it should be very close and entertaining. :)

2-2 is my prediction.

It won't be easy for us.

Kwik Kriket. :p :)

I saw that.

What do you think about the Oval? Tremlett a certainty for Bresnan and no other change? Aus don't seem to have anyone to pick from, only khawaja looks like missing out. God knows what their batting line up will look like in the return.

Can't see Tremlett getting a game just yet. Kerrigan might if we are preparing a bunsen burner, maybe even Finn could take brezzzy lads place. But Tremlett is short of pace still, so to me at least, should be held back for the return Ashes series. Tremlett was superb on those WKTS in 2010/11.

I'd like to see Michael Carberry play in the limited overs series also.

I know it is only T-20 but his pace was nearly always sub 80mph on finals day t'other day.
Still maybe that is the clue, the selectors told him to bowl within himself to help negate fitness problems.

But Mr Christopher Tremlett is at his best when he is bowling @ 85mph+ on a bouncy, quick-ish wicket.
He was unplayable in Australia at times. :) I'm sure he will play down under and they are desperate to 'keep' him for that.

I'm gonna say Kerrigan for Bresnan and a dry as fuck Oval pitch to be played on. Defo then a bat 1st wicket fo'sure.

Get 550 and win by an innings.

Sorted. :D

4-0, see ya OZ cunts in a few months for another pumping.

Sub 80, really? :/ Could just be reigning it in though, you're right.

620/6 over 2 1/2 days then bowl swann and kerrigan in tandem aye? :D

Yes.

Lets see what this Kerrigan fella can do now the Ashes are won, Swanny can't go on for ever after all.
