violence in cronulla - a recreation of... (MERGED)

I don't agree with the point that it's the polices fault. I don't agree with blaming it on a lack of police funding.

At the end of the day it is the individuals responsibility. Continually pouring additional funds into policing isn't going to save a society. There are obviously real tensions here. It is a community/societal issue - not something the police ought to be funded to fix. They're not babysitters/psychiatrists/stay-at-home mums. They're police, they're fallible.

Fighting violence with violence is not the answer, no matter how frustrated that mob may have been. They were just in it for the fun. A day to go out, get drunk and just generally cause mayhem.
 
I reckon we need to start a committee and then start a sub committee which starts a sub committee that starts a sub committee, then ill have my sub committee call that other committee that will organise a bbq with the other sub committee to discuss what we should do about starting another sub committee.

I reckon get the old school cops who ruled the cross back in town who when people start shit, they just rip them from their beds at 2 in the morning and beat the fuck out of them. Seriously im sick of dickheads on both sides, we just need some heads to fuckin roll. Make those that intimidate the average person get back in their box.

Its not about religion... its about weak ass cops/ and people who have it too easy to give the law the finger. Cops that have to be scared of taking any action because some fuckwit pot smoker is going to talk about civil liberities... some crazy bitch from the west is going to say that their actions are turning their children into suicide bombers....

Seriously just fuck them up... bring out the rubber bullets and fire on the fuckers... The only people who are going to get hurt are the people who are the offenders.

What kind of stupid fuckwit would go to Cronulla on the weekend when they knew it was going to be populated by fuckwit bogan Australians...

Bring back proper discipline at school. Society has just got too soft, too politically correct - kids now have the run of the street and they grow into thuggish adults.

I think a lack policing has a lot to do with people getting pissed off with local gangs contiully causing trouble. The police themselves know it's a major problem but they do not have the resources to deal with it. Leave that for enough years and your going to have a pissed off community. Of course this is no excuse violence or racism.

I agree with that it is a community/societal issue, however it is not helped at all by a lack of law and order. I think you will find that a lot of people are fearful and angry and that is not the perfect climate for resolving other community/societal issues.

Look this has been brewing for ages, and when i saw on the news last night what happened i wasn't surprised in the slightest. It's a pity it had to turn so violent, but in essence it was a protest and about taking a stand.

I'm disappointed the left-wing media has completely forgotten about the attacks on the defenceless lifeguards last week though, and all the other provocations that lead to this retaliation.

So fucking what that a bunch of yobs on a beach get to "keep it" from other groups from using it. Is that going to settle this once for is it, a couple of bashings? *edit* When is this going to stop. Is the mob going to be around everywhere.

What happens when it becomes all out warfare - Do you want to begin a final solution, ship all arabs (and hey, whilst your at it why not asians and all people who don't have white skin) to death camps? Have you ever gotten pissed off at a lifesaver? I have, wankers nearly let me drown a few times - fucking scream at me as if they own the beach. Do you respect the the law and all the trapings of our society so much.

Hell I've sworn at nurses that nearly left me to die in a fucking emergancy ward. Do you wanna start a fucking riot over that idiot?

You people are using this as a excuse to shit your fucking frustrations. Yes arabs can be wankers - they're fucking human, and the only reason why you can seperate them from other humans is because of the colour of their skin -

If a bunch of white yobs were playing soccer that fateful day, and were told to fuck off and stop playing by a lifesaver, whom they subsequent bashed, would there had been a riot, a rally?

Remember that arab kid we all teased at school? You know pushed him around, called him names? Hell we had a leb with 4 fingers, (badly deformed) do you think he had a happy time at school, being a leb and deformed? now remember when you got teased at school, well just put yourself in these people position and you can only just begin what they've gone through all their life.

i totally wasnt going to buy into this but you are pushing some major boundaries chugs. the volunteer lifesavers were doing their JOB when they were set upon. they rescued a young middle-eastern girl from drowning and were crudely accused of mistreating her. no provocation. whether the boys who started this whole thing have a chip on their shoulder or not is no reason for them to randomly accuse people of things and pick fights...especially 20 on 2.

I haven't heard of that "fact"

The reports i read is that the arabs were playing soccer on the beach - they were told to stop - (who knows with what language and tone) and the arabs got offended and began to whale on them.

Again if this was a white group bashing the lifesavers NOTHING WOULD HAVE HAPPENED.

Get it - the only reason is because you people seem to think that a certain group (distignushed only by the colour of their skin) of human beings are completely the same, be it a bunch that start brawls, or a couple walking through along the beach on a sunday afternoon.

Don't get involved in a argument you can't possibly win and more importantly it is not YOUR FUCKING PLACE to start mob (or support with your words) justices - it's for the police to resolve and that is that - no one else, not you and your drunken mates, not you and your cricket bat.

I'm not doing a he said she said but I know 2 of the lifeguards that were the centre of the initial attack. I'm not advocating what happened on Sunday and I'm ashamed to be a part of that community but you cant carry on about the 'victimisation' of the arab community when they feel the best way they can handle so-called persecution is by randomly bashing innocent people. The same way mob-anger is no way to react back.
