As far as I'm aware the pS 3 version of GTA IV displays in 1080p HD...according to all manner of facts and numbers on the box etc.
But for some reason whenever I start it up, the load screen begins and my TV displays 'HDMI 1
1080p... stereo".. then as the actual game begins (load from last save point) and it says "HDMI 1
720p... stereo". Which suggests that my TV recognises a 1080p resolution source, but fails to display it during gameplay, reducing it to 720p. Is this normal?
I was wondering if anyone knows of some sort of setting or menu option that I would need to adjust. Not that it'd make a discernable difference, but I'd like to experience it the way it was intended.
Other relevant info: I'm playing a copy of GTA I bought in America, but being region-free this shouldn't have any impact on my Australian PS3. ALso I haven't had this problem with Call of Duty 4 or Ninja Gaiden Sigma- both will actually play the game in 1080p, (as I'm informed by the television).
Back to it then... stats- addiction level = "that's some good shit!" (so fucking true

)
