I did not mean for everybody to make a discussion out of this. I was just sort of annoyed that he integrated that source word for word, but making it seem like he wrote it himself.
I know k'dout is a good guy. I was in withdrawal at the time and it pissed me off for some reason. No, this is not school, and it was a bit far for me to call it plagiarism and for this i apologize, but i think sources should be cited, and not passed off as something that someone wrote themselves. But yes, better non-cited good info than cited bad info.
I simply think credit should be given when credit is due, i mean you dont have to use the fucking MLA format, just make it clear what writing is yours, and what is not, even if you just say, "according to this website". The topic of this thread is not whether or not k'dout plagiarized, its about substituting benzos as alcohol. I still do think what he did was a mistake, but fuck, who doesnt make mistakes.
We are using an informal format here, but i still dont think people should pass off information they found, particularly word for word, as their own. But no big deal, this stuff happens.
Who, except some nitpicking asshole, will know that you copied something from a website without citing?
I have read through that website many times, and i noticed immediately that he had copied the information word for word as if it was his own. If anything, it is a testament to my awareness, despite being in withdrawal. So simply because i was very familiar with the site he quoted, does in no way mean i was "nitpicking"; it is called moderating. But had i been in a different temperament at the time i very likely would not have called him on the minor impropriety.......
