...On topic, is the pod industry still alive at all in the USA? I mean there are still obviously sites up, but the best I can tell, most people are frustrated with it and have given up. Is there anyone out there that is still using these lower quality pods that have become the norm? They still give effects though with much less morphine effect, and I'm wondering if pod users/ addicts are still going on these pods with less morphine that are so common now?
Well, the Arizona farm had shut down, and from what I know they were the best and suppling 90 percent of the usa market. It used to be <snip> a head now its like <snip> a head. I know there is a researcher in canada that made a poppy plant with no morphine content, just codeine. So it wont be too long before you see non-narcotic pods out there. I will find that researchers name and there was a nice video he had. He is from the University of Calgary in Canada.
Also I think the farms in Washington and California cut the pods down too early, which could be one reason. The seeds then would not be dark, the walls thin with no ridges, and the crowns are not naturally open. This indicates that they never let the pods dry on the stalk in the sun fully. Also they could be using a persian white strain which is very low indeed, or this new strain that researcher made. He figured it out on pure luck see he located the one gene out of 22,000 genes in the papaver that produce the morphine from the codeine.
