Are there any poppy pods that look like p. somniferum but aren't?? I look out for the greeny blue leaves and the bulbous pods and that's basically how I identify them...

Thats a difficult one when they're green. What I DO know is that most poppies grown in the UK (gardens, places like Tatton park) are usually P. Somniferum.
The owners/gardeners etc usually don't usually have a clue they're opium poppies, so a bit of late-night pod pinching usually results in bewilderment more than a call to the police.
The strongest pods if you can get them are 'hen & chicks'. By far...
I'm once again under the influence of a divine plant. However i've been in the throes of the black hairy tongue.
I'm astonished at the way Opium seems to promote a healthy taste for water; when ingesting this drug i may drink up to 10 pints of water per day!
Seriously how many of us are the most thirsty mofos in town after drinking poppy tea. Christ Alive!
I do love a beverage but i'm pissing like a camel every hour!
so, I just decided it was time to quit.....I'm not looking to order, but browsing the shops it seemed there were shortages of basically everything and everywhere has doubled their price
Whats up?????
Since we are here waiting around anyway I'll share some thoughts on my tea prep.
First of all I want to say that those of you who dispose of plant material after the second rinse are wasting product.
I will start the day with about 6 large pods and grind them with a coffee grinder. Contents go In a large cup with just a few drops of lemon juice and very hot water. The first soak is always the worst so set for five minutes and then strain with a metal coffee filter. One of the reusable filters that comes with cheap walmart coffee pots are perfect.
Send material back to soak in the original big cup with more lemon juice and hot water. While your second batch is soaking make tea with your first batch of water. I normally use lemon or orange tea.
Repeat this process multiple times.
The second setting sits for about 15-20 minutes
Third and fourth half hour to an hour.
Fifth and sixth a half hour and use a utensil to mash the pulp a few times as now the pulp is getting soft and the cell walls are breaking down which is where the alkaloids are contained.
I will do this twice per day on recreational days and it is very effective and makes for a very long lasting experience(all day and all night).
Everyones tolerance is unique however and this number of pods may be far to much for some people. And yes I am drinking water and pissing all day long.
Also, I have a high tolerance to tramadol, like 700mg is a typical use to get high, spread over a few hours (stupid I know)./QUOTE]
Well at least you know. Trouble is, if you're starting to experiment with opioids then you'll find most of the options out there give a more satisfying high than tramadol. All well and good, you might think.
However...
If you get used to the buzz from 'true' opioids and then have to fall back on tramadol, there's a danger of you chasing that buzz, not getting there and upping your dose. Seizures are not unknown at doses way lower than 700mg (which I understand you're not doing at once - yet) and don't for one second think you need to be epileptic or have a history of seizures because you don't.
Having said that, you seem reasonably informed and you're making a positive step with the poppy tea. As I've said before, just watch that tram or you'll end up like Alan Bradley.

I may post some more later. It's curious to see a whole section of a family medical book devoted to the subject of opium in medicine. Nowadays u just get some spoonfed bullshit about codeine being a cough suppressant from the opium plant, yada yada.
