The only machida fight that was any good was him and jon jones. that was because machida is used to being out of range of most fighters. the reach of jones was just too long for him to stay outside and when he dounced in for a strike he was in danger before he was ready for it. jones didn't have to chase him to get close enough to hit him.

everything else was just him running from his opponent and using persision striking to frustrate. when diaz dose it they call him a coward and when machita does it they say thats just his style. (and I am no diaz nut hugger either)
 
Hendo didn't exactly push the pace either to be honest. More so, but he was fairly inactive especially in the last round.

Bermudez / Brice should make a fight of the year candidate, that was a war.

That's ok, Bones will put Machida asleep again later this year.

ricardo: is that Struve's actual xray?

Struve was dumb for inviting Hunt to trade stand up with him. But Hunt did show improvement on the ground but I dont see him lasting against the elite tier HWs. Cain would take him down and hurt him.
 
Yeah it's legit, he tweeted it.

It's good to see that Hunt still has it. I reckon he might fight the winner of Nelson/Kongo, then might get a title shot. But yeah I don't see him standing much of a chance against Cain.

Coolio. Just was looking over at MMAWeekly.com and saw it there. Wow! I liked Struve's tweet about wanting Herb Dean to pull his tooth out of his jaw so he could continue. lol


I dont think Hunt will be in the title picture unless he beats a legit top tier threat. A win over Roy gets him a tick closer but then he would likely fight Shane Carwin or Frank Mir and they both would own him on the ground. And even if he somehow wins over one or both of those guys, then there is Reem or JDS to beat who are much faster strikers than Hunt. But, you know what, anything can happen and Hunt at the very least is a good story in the HW division.
 
Yeah the GSP fight was super predictable. Not sure if Johny can beat him if Georges is super conservative like he has been but he definately has a shot with his grappling and power and I'll be rooting for him.

You gotta admit that Condit brought the fight to Hendricks though. I don't even care that Carlos lost Johny is good dude. Goddam that fight was awesome.
 
Anyone else would have been KOd. I'd say that's as close to dealing with that kind of power as you can get :)

He looked good at the end of the fight too. Johnny rightfully took the decision though.
 
Yeah they were both eating huge shots. I hope they rematch Condit with Rory or Diaz next I think he'll thrash either one. They also gotta figure out what to do with Maia and Ellenberger. WW is pretty interesting, GSP is definately slowing down too.
 
Yeah I could see that but DHK is coming off two wins and a fluke loss to Maia while Marquart is coming off two losses. I kinda doubt DHK would accept. Maybe Saffedine or Ellenberger.

The more I think about it the more I'm getting hyped for GSP/Hendricks. I think Hendricks has a real shot just hope it's not a GSP/Kos replay.
