occasionally i see it playing.

cool show, interesting concept.

oh and i thought there wasn't a crew? i guess i'm wrong.

you are thinking of survivorman with les stroud. he is responsible for transporting his own camera gear and all the filming. otherwise its a similar concept.

i find both shows really amusing. but i wonder why neither host advises people to stay near where you got lost. i always thought that was the best survival advice?

Survivorman is a little more authentic and practical. He doesn't overexert himself as often or put himself in dangerous or what appear to be dangerous situations quite as much as Bear Grylls does. It seems like the survival techniques in Survivorman would be more useful to the average person. For example the average hiker probably wouldn't have the strength to climb up a sheer rock cliff or have the skill to kill a rabbit with a throwing stick the way Grylls has done in previous episodes. Grylls seems to be a bit of a superman. With that said Man vs. Wild is definitely way more entertaining

Survivorman is a moron. Dude usually starves for 7 days, never does anything right, ends up cutting himself more often than not.

Bear Grylls is the fucking man.

I finally caught this show last night and it was good. I saw the one where he got stranded on a island in the pacific ocean. I swear he is the MacGyver of the nature show circuit. Dude made a fully functional raft with a sail and all types of shit, out of pretty much nothing. I was definitely impressed.

that man vs. wild guy is a fucking ninja. i would never survive in the same situations, which is why i like to live in an urban or suburban environment

If you think Bear Grylls is better at survival, all you have to do is look up Les Stroud's bio to chage your mind.

^ He gets into those situations on purpose to show you how to get out of them if you happen to find yourself in them.

That being said, both Survivorman and Man vs. Wild are good shows, both are informative. Bear Grylls is more animated though, so the show is more entertaining to watch. Les Stroud just seems depressed the entire time.

I've never seen survivor man, but I've seen a couple of eps of Man vs Wild and I gotta say that guy is crazy.

Did anyone see the one where he catches a baby snake and eats it? or the frog one?

And after he's like..."good meal".

I think the most fucked up thing Bear grylls did was when he was in the desert in Africa I think and he didn't have water so he followed around an elephant until it took a shit. then he lifted the shit over his head and squeezed out and drank the shit juices for water. That was the most disgusting thing I've seen him do, they must have paid him a lot for that shit.

i give props to both men, but the man vs. wild show is crazy as hell. the mofo eats the meat raw off of a dead zebra for god sakes, he has to be getting paid.

survivor man is depressed all the time and never really makes it the way he planned. he shows less knowledge, or less resiliance, showing how hard it can be if you dont know i guess?

the iceland episode was awesome for man vs. wild, i support that guy in any adventure he chooses.

No... he has to be getting WORMS.

I'm sorry, but Les Stroud has a much better show. Watching some jackass hopscotch his way through a live lava field is one thing, watching a man carry his own film crew across the Canadian wilderness and get some damn great shots is another.

Survivorman > Man vs. Wild.

the craziest thing i've yet seen on this show is when he squeezes what moisture is left in elephant poo n proceeds to drink it. it was messed up

GodDAMN, people here are fucking critical. No matter which show you watch, you will see some things that will save your life if you find yourself in those situations. These people, Bear Grylls and Les Stroud, show you many things that can SAVE YOUR LIFE when you are confronted with survival situations. Stop being so goddamn critical, I don't care who you are, unless you have done what these guys have done, then you have no grounds to criticize. Complain all you want, but watching these two shows can save your life. Damn, people don't appreciate information when it is given.

^we'll have to keep that in mind the next time we get dropped off in the middle of iceland with only a water bottle, knife and a flint

Bear is awesome! he is one of my heroes. he is high on life and that is the best high ever!

I just recently saw this show and it BLEW MY MIND. Very cool. I saw him eat a tree frog alive. I saw him kill a turtle then eat it with grapefruit juice. I saw him jump into a 5 foot quickmud thing and work his way out. I just want to see MORE! I'm learning valuable survival traits here.
