The ones that I think I voted for are:

Born Too Slow - Crystal Method

Scar - Missy Higgins
Starship Troopers - Ozi Batla
Walk Idiot Walk - The Hives
Yo Mama - Butterfingers
Take Me Out - Franz Ferdinand
Common People - William Shatner

and either:

Hold Me Now - Polyphonic Spree

or

One Day - Nubreed

I can't remember now ;)

hold me now, i still think is a good song, but polyphonic spree scare me... not really

chaos butterfly: you know you can do an extra ten votes via sms (at thirty-three cents per vote, ugh :p) if you can't narrow it down.

i can't, so that'll be what i do :(

just sorting out my final list now.

okay. some very tough decisions were made: just trimmed off "i'm gonna haunt you", "summertime", and "amerika". even got rid of "take me out" because it's a shoe-in for number one anyway (unless everybody does that ;).

so, these are my favourite songs of the year, in a vague order. my picks for where i think they might come are in brackets.

the world at large - modest mouse (47)
on my way - ben kweller (11)
memory lane - elliott smith (19)
float on - modest mouse (6)
one foot in front of the other - bright eyes (96)
up with the birds - holly throsby (88)
bucket, the - kings of leon (61)

in my arms - mylo (75)
school spirit - kanye west (80)
thinking in reverse - dissociatives, the (n/a)
coin-operated boy - dresden dolls, the (3)
drop the pressure - mylo (5)
dream - dizzee rascal (90)
methamphetamine blues - mark lanegan band (n/a)

i think the idea behind amerika is better than the song itself anyway. specifically the only thing i think is good about it is the "this is not a love song" part.

I know about the sms'ing bit... but I seriously can't be fucked typing out all those sms's and then sending them... although I'm now on a capped plan with my phone and can afford it... double meh for effort ;)

CB :)

What they need is a small recording attached to each song because i'm completely useless at remembering song names. I'm flicking through the list going, 'Is that the song that goes like .... or like....'

Fuck it. I vote for Cut Copy. The End.

i voted all australian i think. i cant even remember everyone i voted for, but i know i voted Missy Higgins and the dissociatives.

so im sure the beautiful people at triple j have had their heads down doing a lot of counting as they get it all geared up for Australia Day...

im at the big day out in sydney this yr, so i wont really be able to keep up with it, but i think im going to swing by the JJJ tent and find out how it is going...

but yeah, enjoy listening to it, the CD is going to be great, like they always are!!!
