Thread for posting photos of the inside of your abode.

Forgot that golden rule.

yeah but look, we're back on topic now...mdb's back alley.

Not every thread is gonna ever stay strictly on topic with every post.

And some threads lend themselves more to a conversational, veering off topic style.

other threads, ones about a specific drug for example will stay more on topic.

Showing a picture of your home is bound to lead to other questions, opinions etc...i don't think it's right to demand that every post be showing a photo of people's interior.

And, as GoS said, going off-topic isn't an AIM, it just happens now and then, and a few people had noticed it happening today, it was a "joke". A weak one maybe.

Sorry if you're offended Bearlove, but you really shouldn't be.

:)

I know that mate, I get a bit too deep into the conversation / read into (whats not even written) between the lines etc. Sarcasm / jokes / humor can get lost in translation and its way too easy to get the wrong end of the stick.

:sus:

I need a bit of expert advice to perfect the look im trying to achieve.

The fern is quite cool. You mainly want to get down on your hands and knees and rip up everything around and underneath it then take about 3ft off whatever that is on the left with either a strimmer or a chainsaw depending on how thick the branches are.

I'm not so much an expert as an.... umm... aesthete. Although my own adobe looks like a flying junkyard has been shot down over a record shop most of the time.

yeah good idea. Its strange that you can notice more things in a pic than in reality. That straggly little branch growing low to the right into the fern could go, or be shortened so that it'll start budding upwards hopefully.. That would improve it. And yeah i could neaten up the left hand side. I like the weeds and stuff underneath. They are staying.

Its taken 15 years for the fern to grow that big. I wonder how much bigger it will get.

it will get bigger if you clear the weeds away from the base of it as jc says.

Or you could be a lazy cunt and claim you "like the weeds and stuff (crisp packets, dogshit bags) underneath"

Do you like honey suckle? I think it goes beautifully with fern

good thinking, many honeysuckles are very tolerant of shady spots too.

Lol i genuinely like the weeds. Look at the pretty flowers. The 'dogshit bags' are dead cuttings, that i should remove. Like i say, somehow i get a clearer view of whats what in the pic than just looking at it in person.

You can train plants, you know, with a bit of a bend and some string or wire. It's not just down to hoping for the best unless you're Uri Geller and I don't think even plants like him.

Tell you what would look really good with/ around the fern - nuke everything apart from the fern and the rose and buy a huge sack of smooth grey pebbles, the big fist sized fuckers, and fill your beds with them. They'll keep the weeds down too... sure there's somewhere which'll take bitcoins for them too.

Mind you I don't know what your neighbourhood's like, they might just end up coming through the windows of an evening.

I was expecting to see a series of photos with shitten underpants laid across the floor.

Hang some planters off the main wall - reflect the natural feel of the shrubs/ plants in the square.

(back out of my hissy fit (*'_'*))

:o Doh ! I forgot all about that. That's what i shall do. I can train them downwards to cover up the spindly bits. Problem solved. Well given time it will be. :D

Not sure what to make of your charming comment Ismene, i have a little more self respect than that. :?

I have used some purple mondo grass in the past as ground cover. The contrast in colour is awesome

Afternoon winter sun over looking the river. In summer it is too intense and unfortunately I have to close the blinds and lose the view. Just bought that gas heater last week so nights are toastie warm out there with a beer or three. I'm still impressed my white lounge has survived two kids....
