The What's Good on European TV Thread Vs. What's Knock to Watch??

Karl is the star of the three of them. Although he is purposefully directed into the dialogue people will laugh at (on The Ricky Gervais Show), he still comes out with the belters. Funny guy. Have spent many a stoned night in hysterics at him.

Holy fuck! Insomnia just led me to hold my hands over my face and shout "what the fuck" at the end of an episode of Game of Thrones.

Brilliant.

I watched a bit of telly under the influence once. I used to watch loads of crappy telly during the day while I've been stuck at home. Dave mostly. I hate fucking Top Gear now. Used to believe it was the only decent thing on telly. Ha! Don't believe that.

Anyway while I was zoning out a little I had a quick flick through the channels, caught the amazing new tune by Dizzy the Rascal on 4 music. Then something else came on which was more in favour to what they normally show so flicked off sharpish.

Landed on Dave and this amazing program was on, I've since found out it's called Storage Hunters and I think everyone should check it out at least once because I found it amazingly hilarious but confusing at the same time and I'll explain why.

It started usual folk talking into the camera etc. didn't get it I was zoning in and out and didn't care but then something happened that made me laugh. Really laugh. Even thinking about it now makes me giggle. It's this bald fella stands there and points at folk but he goes 'beraberaberabera 500 beraberaberabera 550' etc. I fucking lost it. It was ace. Wtf is he doing? I thought he must be counting up really quick and I was impressed. It sounded so funny though even though he is a very skilled fast counter.

But I have my doubts over the validity of the show. Like I said I wasn't paying a whole lot of attention and at points it became just images on a screen but I saw a few things that made the old 'spidey sense' tingle a little bit.

At one point they had to break up a fight. Really? Why? How is it possible to get worked up by something like that? I've been to a few car auctions in my time and never saw anything like that happen. It's not life and death stuff. I thought this was suspect. But then the man went 'beraberabera' again so I forgot about this.

Also near the end they were selling some random suitcases that they must have stolen out of folks lockups and this couple brought them. (More 'beraberabera malarky he he he) Upon opening on of one of these cases they found a sealed medical blood holder thingy. A proper one they use in hospitals. Again, really?. Who goes on fucking holiday and packs something like that? What just in case they need a transfusion while on the beach in the Algarve.

So I think it's fake, filmed, scripted bullshit. Am I on the right track?

I think the "beraberabera malarky" may be what's more commonly known as an auction.

lol counting :D

Not a fan of the man & his politics but Portillos taking the train to Monte Carlo. I did that trip along the Cote D'Azur with my first love when I was 19 and camped in Antheor, rickety old train wide doors wide open to catch the breeze, picking fresh lemons off trees as we passed and the deep blue of the Med sparkling away. amazing coast.

I don't reckon Storage Hunters is fully scripted. Maybe bits. It's really good, especially for stoner viewing. I can believe stuff gets that heated, when someone might have just got 40 grand's worth of shit, for $500.

Ben: I quite like Dizzee's new tune, also. Only because it mentions drugs in it... :p

Sorry if this has been mentioned but Jump Boys: Channel 4 Racing. Excellent documentary on being a jockey...very exclusive access to the world of horse racing, kind of relevant with it being Cheltenham an all this week.

Also I am rather enjoying the murder mystery Broadchurch on ITV. Great cast, gripping storyline, cocaine already mentioned by epispde 2 and some terrible fake Devon accents to boot.

Well written and well shot. Good hearty stuff. Sorry I don't contribute to this thread more (you can probably tell why after this post!) but I proper leach off it!

Tonight I will be watching ESPN and seeing Blackburn Rovers getting dumped out of the FA Cup:(

And yes Derek is fucking epic, laughs and cries the whole lot. Also the new series of Idiot Abroad is pretty good with Warwick Davis as his tag along this time :)

Just finished watching William Turnbull: Beyond Time. Nice BBC4 doc about the Scottish artist who died a coupla days ago. I'd actually not really come across him before but really enjoyed the doc. Absolutely <3 his paintings and drawings, not so big on all the sculpture but have never been that into sculpture. Like some of 'em though.

There is bit of a feast of true crime programmes on the Quest channel tonight.
9pm Undercover.
10pm FBI Case Files
11pm Couples Who Kill
I love all the true crime stuff. Some of the Undercover episodes have been really interesting.Showing how cops infiltrate crime gangs and gather the evidence needed to bring them down. Footage filmed with hidden cameras of huge piles of dope and bags full of thousands of Dollars.

just watched final episode of derek about an hour ago on 4od and parts of it made me feel like i was gonna cry, you know when you get thay welling up in your throat. i think it was the coldplay track too. i dont know if i would want a second series.

also the making of derek (i think it was called) was pretty fun, karl takes some shit lol

The Simpsons screens tonight in New York @ 6pm (10pm U.K time).
"Lisa must defend Bart after he is accused of pulling an Easter prank on the school marching band. Mr. Burns fulfills his dream of becoming a superhero".

Family guy is also on.

"After a skydiving accident, Peter becomes friends with an Islamic man who coerces Peter to convert to Islam, leaving Joe and Quagmire with suspicions about this new friend".

Finished season 1 of justified on netflix, one of the best things ive watched since breaking bad and dexter

dexter season 7 on at 9, wicked

Just finished watching The Body Shocking Show. Kinda like a cross between Eurotrash and Bizzare magazine. Tacky but entertaining.

In other TV stuffs news, finished the first two seasons of Game of Thrones recently. Did grow on me but still don't really see what all the fuss is about. Nice to see fantasy stuffs being done "properly" ferra change though I suppose which I'm guessing is why it's so popular. That and all the tits anyway.

Also finished Boardwalk Empire t'other day. Really enjoyed it too. The first season especially, second one seemed to lose a lotta steam. Can certainly see they spent mucho moolah on it - sets, costumes and general production values are amazing. Really captured the time well (well, seemed to anyway - I wasn't around to judge) and was a good story. Nice and compact too at just two seasons. Nice to see a US show that sticks to a story and doesn't get bloated to fuck trying to milk it. Steve Buscemi is always worth watching but was particularly good in this I thought.

There's a 3rd season. It's also been renewed for a 4th.
