The vitamins and supplements MEGA THREAD.

thoose special multivitimanis they have advertised at stores like gnc and stuff, with like lists of 35 ingrediants and shit do they actually make a differece rather then just the regular 1nes

I'm thinking not, unless they actually contain more types / quantity of vitamins than the other ones you refer to. Personally, I've been taking Centrum for awhile now with fairly good results, but the name brand makes no difference I'm sure.

this was the one the guy was really trying to push onto me when i went there
they were also trying to push teh acai berry clense

The store I went to convinced me to buy these which sounds kinda similar to the berry cleanse you are talking about. As far as that goes, I have to say I have been very pleased with them so far. They seem to be giving me more energy and have me in a better mood. Also, I had a sore throat when I started them about a week ago, and that has went away.

As for the other vitamins you linked to, I don't know much about them. :|

one thing i can say about this stuff is that it isn't immediately excreted from your body like most multi-vitamins. XanGo has an explanation for it, which i do not know off the top of my head, but i believe it. after taking all other multi-vitamins i'm pissing fucking neon yellow, but not with 365, which leads me to believe the shit is actually being metabolized. its expensive, but i think its worth it. they have regular and women's too (i believe), btw.

No, those are the worst. You should really get individual vitamin supplements and take the necessary amount of each. The fat soluble vitamins are best when dissolved in oil in a softgel.

the neon yellow i think is specifically from lutine or something,
my multi vitamins are kirkland, the costco brand and they do this, but only once htey changed the formula

I take a mulitiamin every day and stay active. I might be adding a different regiment and a workout to my life, so I dunno but for 5yrs I have been taking a multivitamin.

Oh man I have a shelf full of vitamins... Everyday I just pick and choose which ones to take, hehe.

Cod Fish Oil -- omega 3's for when I don't eat enough salmon/walnuts.
Calcium/Vitamin D --- lady's long lost companion? read that it helps with appetite and depression too.
Magnesium --- goes well with amps.
L-Tyrosine -- gotta replenish that dopamine/norepinephrine? don't take it often though, due to the occasional jitters and migraines it causes.
Multivitamin --- the boring basics. I ignore this one often. I hate the iron.
Vitamin C --- I usually just drink pots of green tea instead of taking this.

I'm looking to add more herbs into my routine, after doing some more research on chinese herbalogy though. Picked up ginseng the other day, and am planning to get ginkgo biloba and possibly dong quai (sp?) soon. Some others as well... just need to look up the kanji and numerous pronounciations so the nice old ladies will know what I'm asking for.

- fish oil + l-carnatine/alpha lipoic acid combo - helps me think clearer, brains a little cloudy from schizophrenia + antipsychotics + dxm/k abuse
- multivitamin
- niacinamide (stress reduction supposedly)
- l-theanine from time to time for anxiety and focus
- green tea extract (for EGCG)
- protein shake

The quantity is more important than the type IMO. Yes, there are different "types" of vitamins(although they would be better described as analogues). Vitamin E for example can be one of 8 different compounds. Obviously some are more bioavailable or more stable than others, and only 1 of these compounds becomes the "standard" in the industry.
For example vitamin B12 is almost always sold as cyanocobalamin, but several related compounds are also designated vitamin B12(hydroxocobalamin, methylcobalamin, 5-deoxyadenosylcobalamin, etc).

I'm seeing a lot of stuff on people lists that aren't vitamins 8(

I've got a bunch of vitamin deficiencies, so I take vitamin D, calcium citrate, vitamin E, and iron. I've heard CoQ10 is supposed to be really good for you. Anyone take it?

do you tak a multi?

for those who do i reccomend Life Force Multiple...great product for the money.....anyone know of anything better? stuff like centrum is garbage

- MSM 1.5grams daily (Help my bladder i guess, i should really just quit k though completely, irritates me down there) Also does other effects too, like its meant to help your joints but it sure can make you fart. lol
- 500mg Vitamin C (When used in cojunction with MSM, it improves MSM's function and i cant always get vitamin c as easily as acidic citrus drinks make my prostate inflame
- 500mg L-Tyrosine (In an effort to quit k, which is a Dopamine Reuptake Inhibitor i am trying a dopamine precursor supplement to help deal with my mood swings, however my diet is already rich and high in both L-Tyrosine for Dopamine production, and L-Tryptophan for Serotonin production.
- Cod liver oil (For joints i guess haha)
- Valerian Root, which i take often as i think its a GABA supplement, so chills me out a bit, i don't feel as on edge.

with vitamins you really need to check the brand....some have been proven to not absorb into your body...

i eat excessive fruit in the morning and vegetables throughout the day....sometimes might take a vitamin after stimulant use if i don't feel like eating....
