Um lets see, there was Zelda 1 & 2 for Nintendo
Then Zelda for snes, this was possibly the greatest.
The next was on Gameboy and revamped for Colour Gameboy.
N64 had Ocarina of time, another great one and Majora's mask.
Then there were 2 releases for Gameboy SP Oracle of season and oracle of time.
Gamecube was next with Windwaker. Introducing a cel shaded link, very cute if you're into elves in tights.
And the new Zelda game for wii.

You can also find link in super smash bros 1 & 2 and in he gamecube release of Soul Calibur 2.
 
Xbox 360 has won my heart.... The only problem is I find i get sick of the games very quickly.. Playing Gears of War on Xbox live... If anyone wants to play some co-op... hit up my xbox live name: chrisnotforu
 
I preordered my Wii through The Games Wizards. Their truck didn't turn up on Thrusday or Friday so they told me it would be in today, and that they would ring and keep me advised. After no call I called this morning and got told the manager would call to let me know what was going on. So after no call I called again and they said they didn't actually get stock in on weekends.

So I figured fuck it, went to K-mart and they had 5 consoles left. So I got a refund on my preorder and got it from there instead.

The console was $10 cheaper and so was the game I bought. Plus I know the chick who was working in the electronics section and she gave me a staff discount of 70 bucks. So all up I saved $90 in total.

Not too shabby :)

Been playing Red Steel all afternoon. Pretty damn fun...

I'll add ya soon when I turn my 360 on later. Try Viva Pinata if you haven't, everyone I know who has it plays it non stop when they can. It's SOOOOOOO GOOD :D Supposed to be a kids game but it's not really heh

ja ja. sign me up as another who's buying an xbox 360 to play Gears of War.

My brother has a Wii and I gave it a bit of a shot on Thursday night...um...it's...kinda lacking in quality titles. Wii sports is a bit of a gimmick I reckon. Zelda was fun , but the pace is too slow. Hence GoW.
 
I couldn't be bothered searching hard enough for the tech support thread, so I'm borrowing this one.

The bios on my porta pc shat itself, and none of my other computers seem to be making decent dos boot disks, neither are any that are available online helping. If anyone has an image they can zip and send (apparently needs just io.sys and drvspace.bin) or post, I'd pay in sexual favours, or other currency of your choice (read: beer).

if it makes any difference its a soltek qbic sl-b9a-fgr, and yes, i have an up to date bios to flash it with. unfortunately, soltek seem to have gone bankrupt in the last few months, and thus im stuck with no proper tech support.
 
Ah, I used to play zelda on my NES, and my SNES. The cartridges were gold, I thought that was so cool.

Ocarina of Time was good too.

i'm freakin bored,

all i have is an outdated pc,

can anyone recommend me a game to play? (ive not been keeping up for a *long* time on games.. )

interests are RPGs (NOT mmorpgs), RTS, and some of the more strategic FPS's (online/multiplay)
 
Been playing Need For Speed Most Wanted on 360 a lot, Gears of War is still sitting here in an unopened package and the other great game I've been playing is Dead Rising, based on the movie Dead of the Dead, although somehow I fucked up and erased all my savegames of Dead Rising.

yeah man, i've tried it, the pc doesn't like it. it reads the disk then declares it invalid.

i'm thinking i'll have to get a replacement cmos for it and swap it over.
really annoying.

I basically only play GoW ..currently working on single player insanity.

Anyone watch the vid casts from the 1upshow? The staff of various mags do stories on the latest and greatest games. Quite entertaining.
 
anyone know of any companies or people in melb who stock new bios chips, and offer flashing services? :\
(i figured out the boot disk problem. it didn't help)

I figured it out eventually anyway.
the floppy cable I was using is notched, and the notches were the inverse of what the notch in the disk drive was, so it'd chew the file allocation table, then spit it out.

Either way, my bios was fried, I had to send off for a third party in the US to prepare me replacement and post it to me.
All good, all working now.

I again have a system worth playing games on.
 
Xbox 360 Vs PS3

Hey all, am seriously contemplating upgrading my gaming system and was after looking at either the Xbox 360 or the PS3.

Obviously the PS3 is dearer than the 360 in Australia but I was after some opinions from people who have used both (overseas obviously) to give me a help in deciding.

The sorts of things I want to know are,
-Game quality, range, shelf life
-Graphics
-Load speed ect...

Games
There is bugger all and most out there are just nasty ports of last generation technology with pretty pictures.
Xbox is drawing the usual suspects of FPS style games but expect a lot of wacky-but-cool japanese games to be PS3 only. Depends what sort of games you like?
Xbox arcade is the best of both right now

Graphics
In raw power Xbox its superior to PS3, but the PS3 has a LOT more processing potential so it could do some amazing dynamic stuff (in a few years when people figure it out)

Load speed
PS3 is 20% slower

Other
Both are online crazy. Xbox live will be more usable and polished



Right now?
Id buy a wii
