short xbox 360 demo reviews

saints row = meh, feels VERY GTA, but has enough redeeming qualities i guess. doesn't really feel next gen, but the landscape is very well made.

ninety nine nights = here's a test. stand in the middle of a club and start spinning around. that's this game. absolutely no point whatsoever other than "look how many people are on the screen at once!"

table tennis = my girlfriend beat me twice. due to that, i think i'm going to be playing this game against my will for a while.

to which, duckboy, if you didn't play postal 2, give it a quick squiz. it's not amazing, the graphics aren't breathtaking, but it's just so stylish to start in a trailer and then grab a shovel and whack people on the head and then piss on their corpse 8o

Postal. That game was funny, but unplayably shit from memory.

Try Postal 2. You get to set people on fire and then piss on them. Hmm... Mean Girl just mentioned that. Teach me to only read the last post (al).
 
I only played it a few times but it was pretty hard from memory. And there didn't seem to be much to it.

This might be it. You never can tell though. If you have broadband I guess it's worth the chance.

According to wikipedia it is:

The game itself is an isometric shooter in which the targets are everyday human beings. An add-on to the game called Special Delivery was made in 1998 which featured four new levels (department store, shanty town, earthquake zone and nudist resort), new characters, new sounds, new modes of play (co-op and a refined deathmatch). Original and Addon were released together as Postal Plus in 2001 and ported to Linux by Loki Software.

The title is based on the expression "Going postal".

Games hardware

I admit Im a PS2 fanboy.
Its got all the cool original games that I want to play. Whatever you do with your hardware its the games that make or break it.

* Xbox pretty much has PC games except with a stupid controller
* Nintendo's kid focused bubbly n bright noise makes me feel nautious
* PC games require way too much money on stupid hardware to play slight variations on unoriginal ideas. Even then you spend half your time staring at a blue screen of death or downloading a driver or patch to make it even work

Next generation things could change.

* Xbox360 games seemed to be taking the same path, but Xbox Arcade looks awesome. Someone is going to delivery something way fucking cool that will change gaming forever, i can just feel it
* PS3 = wtf are those guys thinking? Stupid proprietary hardware worth a fortune just so Sony can push blu-ray. I feel game developers are going to just say "fuckoff Sony, we're sick of your crap" and develop elsewhere
* Wii could well be the darkhorse. cheap, original and fun focused

I loved Postal 2 when it came out (wow, a few years ago now??)
So much so that i *cough* obtained a copy of Apocolypse Weekend about 6 months ago. Played it, and got bored within a few hours :(

When Postal 2 was released, it really was pretty nifty in terms of gfx and gameplay (IMO). Looks rather dated now, though.

I'm rather hanging out for Crysis. And i fear it will eat my PC for breakfast :\
 
Zelda Four Swords Adventures is what we're playing at the moment, mostly in two player mode. It's great fun... cooperative, but you can still fuck with the other players. Bomb them, knock them into bad places and take their money, pick them up and throw them off cliffs, and all the other good stuff. But you can't do it very often or the game degrades into a deathmatch. :-)

But actually...

What I like playing the most is Final Fantasy: Crystal Chronicles. Problem is, it's a game which only works well if you can fill all four seats. When we did have four people in the house dedicated enough to the game, we only had two GBAs to use with it. Now that we have four GBAs, we only have two players. Funny how the world works.

So yes... if any other Crystal Chronicles fans in Sydney happen to read this... PM me. We need some dedicated players who are capable of doing 48+ hour runs on this game, assisted or otherwise. It's like a LAN party, but much smaller and more cosy. :-)

^ I have an irresistible urge to touch myself whenever Final Fantasy is mentioned. Its not as strong as the urge when dead babies are mentioned, but its damn close!
