The Travel Thread - Second Destination

My <3 is set on Oz. I'll find it much easier to settle in to Australia than I will elsewhere with their being no language barrier etc and the Aussie lifestyle is so much fun. Defo going to Oz! :)

EDIT: Is it even possible to get a year long visa for India?

I think you can get a visa for 1y and 5ys.

You can also get a gut full of parasites that fuck up your intestines for 6 months :(

So where are you planning on flying into Spade? :)

I beleive Quantas now fly Glasgow to Sydney so I beleive that's that solved. I need to work round the weather / seasons so some planning on that will be needed. Also need to work out whether I want to do East & West coast...though that all depends on time and cost and whether I work or not. It's a lot to work out.

Yeh having the best time of my life :D

This is the proper way to travel. Despite what some may say about travel being wasted on the young.

Stayed with a load of locals last night, about 6 teachers sharing this big house, because one flagged me down and invited me to coffee.

Getting down with the ethnics. How cool, and nothing like an organized Vietnamese homestay I'm sure Edde. ;)

Pictures? Download first is the only way I know how. Never takes longer than a minute per pic on travelpod though I can understand how the young have trouble with this new-fangled intraweb stuff. ;)

I think everything is wasted on the young. Except sex. So you'd better get hurrying on with getting started on that too. ;)

Glad you are enjoying yourself man. Take care with those roads.

SPADE. Saigon is a massive improvement on Hanoi. But I'm still buggering off to Cambodia tomorrow. Angkor Wat and Irrawadi (?) dolphins here I come.

Australia sounds like a great idea. Go for it.

The number of people i know who have travelled abroad with digital cameras then lost them with all the pics before returning home...

All young reasonably technically savey individuals as well.

I think one of them lost one of the CDs onto which he backed up all his pictures whilst on holiday even after i advised him to use the interweb and email at least his favorites to himself ASAP whilst out there.

Not as bad as my sister though. She went off for india with an idiot proof digital camera, got it back then discovered she'd had it on 'macro' mode the whole time which i swear was the only button on the whole thing you could press to stop it taking pictures properly. She ended up with several hundred pictures of fuzzy indians.

So the moral of the story is get yourself in an internet cafe and email those pictures.

Heheheh. :)

It's hard to imagine somewhere being more hectic than Saigon too, Hanoi must be a nightmare.

From my limited time in Cambodia I <3 it. I'm sure you will too. :)

Angkor Wat is going to blow your mind. Be sure to check out Angkor Thom too, almost more impressive than Wat, maybe. We didn't have enough time to check out any of the further afield ones unfortunately.

Cheers! I definitely am going for it! :)

It's kinda tempting to go to India or SE Asia with £4k and spend a lot longer travelling than I could in Oz but there's just something about Australia that makes me think it's paradise on earth. I can just tell I'm going to enjoy being there (again).

Few my mates are giving it "Australia what d'yeh want to go there for it's shite, there's no culture and the people are annoying, I'd never go there". A bit like Scotland then but with nice weather? None of them have even been to Oz. One has never even been out of the UK the other goes as far as Ibiza or to Bennaccasim Festival (T in the Park in Spain) so there obviously well equipped to judge what Oz is like.

Imagine wanting to spend several months in glorious sunshine in one of the most diverse places on earth, I must be mad. 8)

Not sure exactly but much longer I'd imagine. Australia isn't exactly a cheap country.

here's a video of me hang gliding in brazil, ill take this down shortly as the missus hates bein online

Aye was a good un'

Defo have to hang glade when I get the chance, looks quality when you were over the sea coming in for your landing.

Hue, Vietnam

Have once again donned the shorts and got my first exhaust burn when I was changing my spark plug.

My trip to Switzerland was pretty good. Great snow, people are really friendly, good food and great views everywhere. Downsides were the cost of everything, and an extra night in Zurich due to our flight being cancelled.

Didn't see or get offered any drugs (although plenty of weed about), but it didn't bother me as the main reason for being there was the snowboarding.

I'm really put off on visiting Europe now until the GBP gets stronger. In the Duty Free at Zurich, a pack of mini toblerones was £13 and a pack of Rennie was £7.

No trips planned now until April.......

i thought u were rich man, the worlds ur oyster

ps ha ha at the sterling exchange rate

i cant really snigger too much though since i dont have a job anymore

IF my fuckin dole ever comes through ill get it back dated (they owe me 1600 euro for the 8 weeks ive been out of work and then 204 euro every week thereafter)

maybe ill just change it all to sterling and go party in england in between looking for work, since 204 euro is 183 quid .... :)
