Positive The Tapering Support Thread v 2.0

I've tapered down my buprenorphine to 1.3-1.5mg a day now, from 24-28mg a day.(for 8-9months🥲) When would I be able to jump off without feeling like shit for a month? Tapered all that in 4 months so I feel shitty all the time as it is but I don't want it to be worse than this

That all depends on your will power what tools you have at your disposal and how efficient you are with them Short answer NO 1.3-1.5 is still gunna be w/ds. Been taperin for like yrs and are at about the same place as you so be happy!

The person I know Firsthand FORSURE that quit suboxone went down to .2 mgs a day 1/16 to 1/32 a pill --- than (forced) cold turkey for two weeks followed by kratom immodium and sleeping meds for another couple weeks....than off completely and will not take the ish like its poison.

There is no EASY way out but the more you taper the better it is. Some people certainly jump off from where you are -- tougher people than I..

The biggest problem with nicotine is that it’s something to do. The gum doesn’t just make the cravings go away because there’s something about a cigarette or chew that transcends the drug itself.
U can get a zero nicotine vape.

Thank you for the answer notsmokey, I'll probably continue to taper down to at least 0.5mg. I have access to some oxys to ease wd's and also gabapentin and ketamin but my tolerance to those are stupid high. Will probably get some bensos and lyrica also when quitting

Benzos and Lyrica are a couple of the best tools you can have for coming off bupe! You are sitting in a place that you have a pretty maximum chance at success -- but I would continue to taper and maybe build up a little side stash of that stuff as you go.

Immodium binds to the opi receptors in your stomach so it will fix the 'stomach problems' clean (ppl argue whether you can catch a buzz on it or not all the time, I say no but?). Clonodine or benadryl for blood pressure. Nyquil is a nice mix of tylenol benadryl and dxm (Dxm also helps in non trip dosages) dextrohydromorphan(sp) but it helps tickle the receptors just enough. Sometimes the tylenol even helps as you get achey bones and whatnot.

Benzos to sleep whenever you feel it is possible -- the more you sleep through the better, but as you know tough goal to aim for while sick. 2 weeks maximum on those or you may have another issue.

I have never used ketamine to help kick anything (Or really had a decent stash of it ever) but I would be careful there, disassociatives and w/d can lead to ugly things! (Cough amityville and that was lsd and w/d) not the only factors of course but...

IF YOU DECIDE YOU MUST LEAN ON OXYCODONE -- No more than 1 month and you shouldnt be dosin more than idk 10-15 mg a day. (Than you will have a fairly hard week to go through instead of month -- I can see the logic to switching to something short acting. REMEMBER TO SAVE THE COUSHIN FOR WHEN YOU JUMP OFF THAT if you choose to take that path.

I think it would probably be smarter to switch to kratom at the end for two major reasons 1. You gunna have to take ALOT probably and you will not enjoy it (Negative association type thing). 2. Legal and easy to obtain 3. BIGGEST REASON only a partial agonist; going from sub to oxy would/will make relapse very very very tempting. I think it is the Thebaine that gives it the very morish almost extra euphoric boost but I could absolutely be wrong there (correct me if so I don't like being wrong).

Best of luck friend! Keep us updated.

Thank you for the encouragement (really appreciate it🩷) and your thorough answer @notsmokeymcpot42088

Yeah I have a person that can hold my doses for me, so it probably won't be a problem to quit taking the oxys/taking the right doses. It could be if I was by myself.

I took 4mg on Sunday in anticipation of a urine sample that I have to be positive on, and I have surely felt the effects of that today, bone chilling cold and stomach is a mess. Not raising the dose from 1.5mg though, it was just for that one day. But the thing is I barely even felt any relief from wd symptoms even when taking that high of a dose. It feels like my brain is just DONE with bupe and doesn't want it anymore. I for sure want it out of me.

Oh man im gunna go with I had a friend who was on suboxone and started off at 16mg despite going in barely able to afford 2mgs a day. Friend was worried they would see not nearly enough sub showed up 2 years of tests to redwood toxicology and it was never mentioned. --- Nor was the RC benzo I was on at the time but I did pick it pretty carefully based on metabolites. That said, one good dose isnt gunna make a long term difference as long as you go back to workin on it

4mg not a high dose! I was on 24 mg. Not much diff from 16 to 24 it's kind of a waste. That shit fucked my teeth up more in 5 months than opiates and meth had in 7 years. I need three teeth pulled currently, and a toothache so bad I was in tears. If ur cold like that, ur def withdrawing, I get that too.

down to 2mg most and nah I use to be able to cut through that after 18 hours with phine or dilly. 12 with pharm fet. (Still could im sure but everyone went to H than H became 'grey death' and I like breathing more than fent/xyla/we)

Yeaa mine too, you read that I mentioned to the nurse in my clinic "There is a class action lawsuit against this for dental problems" Very loudly, so everyone could hear -- "Not like you guys don't smoke meth anyways". Very insulting assumption and not true in my case which I pointed out there damn drugtests would be a great record of...

Currently tapering from kratom. It's not terrible but definitely not fun.

I've found that chewing salvia leaves helps the physical symptoms like restless legs. Does anybody know of any research on kappa opioid substances during withdrawal?

Also smoking a ton of weed.

Anyone have a solution for watering eyes? Its allergy season for me. Between that and the watery eyes from the withdrawals, my eyes are leaking almost 24/7.

I was able to complete my taper a few years ago, just wanted to say, and still going strong, so it's deifnitely possible.

Idk if salvia would make things better or worse, not what I would try. Also weed made my dysphoric when in opiate withdrawal.

Smoking salvia extract and chewing salvia leaves are very different beasts. It doesn't make you trip unless you are chewing a lot.

No dysphoria from weed, but the sedation does make the fatigue from the kratom withdrawals a bit worse. Still the mood boost helps a ton.
