Positive The Tapering Support Thread v 2.0

I actually had some methadone yesterday because I had been in severe pain for a month straight and barely slept due to the pain. I was planning my suicide I was in so much pain for so long so I figured I should take something.

But this pain isn’t associated with the withdrawal it’s from another medical issue.

It wasn’t that bad withdrawal wise. Sleeping 4 to 6 hours per night. Quite a bit of tension and anxiety at 6 weeks but not sure how much of that was due to the withdrawal from methadone or my health and life falling apart outside of methadone withdrawl.

I also had stopped Valium so some of it could be that also.
Someone who takes it too told me that methadone withdrawals last like two weeks, but i had never had one, so idk??
The heroin withdrawals i had lasted like 5 days, the 5th day was very very mild tho, but still uncomftable...

Also i was told that whatever pain you had before quitting opiates will get worse once you go without em, so in your case maybe it's not helping what you already had?

What i need the most in recovery is rest and company, so i hope you have that right now.
That 2nd thing i have very little of, so i'm a very sleepy person.

This pain is unrelated to hyperalgesia from withdrawal.

It didn’t start until 4 weeks into withdrawal and was diagnosed as a specific medical condition.

So from a pain standpoint the acute phase of the withdrawal was far easier than 4 weeks +

I hope that painfulone's alright and doing well. prayers of strength for your well being. in my thoughts and heart anyway. be well.. take care.

Oh no. I wrote this yesterday. I thought I posted this. Well at least I did it now. I guess I did. I have brain fog but I am still wondering so hard.

I miss your presence but you are in my thoughts and heart. 🙏

The opiate wds never killed anyone, but they do make people commit suicide. And the psychological mind-fuck lasts for over a year.
Unsure if this was mentioned above, but in a similar but much less common manner to benzos, opiate wd can cause seizures due to high levels of glutamate or something similar, which can be fatal, just to clarify.

I always suspected that may be the case. (based on nothing but gut and anectodal experience) just for shits and giggles how much you gotta C/T for that to be a serious concern? (or is that data not yet in)

I'm at 6mg buprenorphine now, down from 28mg in three months. Don't get why they let me get such a high dose, totally unnecessary

I mean I think it's just depending on the specific persons experience and metabolism/uptake/what have you. I would imagine the baseline levels of catecholamines are extremely fucked up in any occurrence of wd but with a taper it should bring you back closer to equilibrium?
Dunno in terms of measurement of the coldness of your turkey lol

That's wicked bruh how are you still kicking it 😂
How long did it take to bring you to that dose? Was the lower (ie; 12ish mg range) dose not bringing you out of wd?

A few months :/ 16mg was sufficient for staving of withdrawals, but I chased a high that was unattainable, everything over 8mg is just unnecessary due to the opiate receptor occupancy but I had no idea about that.

Should I bother trying to taper off kratom? It's pretty cheap and I still get recreational effects. I just hate having to take something to feel ok. It makes me feel like an ssri or some shit, if that makes sense. Anyways, since its pretty benign, should I just keep taking it and bitch up to the minor was when I don't have any (trips and shit)? Or actually try and get off? I just got 350 g in today and id like to use it like once a week or something, but I feel like I'll just run through this bag like the last one too.

Youre saying the ceiling dose is bout 8mg in humans?
Sounds about right, and the bigger doses would just have more in your system, only making it last longer because of halflife?
