Ralphy was one of my favourite characters, Chris is a close second.

I thought the opening scene with the Shylock and his protection money collection was hilarious.

Chris is my favorite character, but my folks can't stand him.

Can't say I've ever cared much for Paulie, though I admit that the guy chews up the scenery. :)

I'm getting real fucking tired of this vito the closet homosexual sideplot, just fucking kill him already. Christ. I hope AJ manages to talk to Tony into helping him into the club business, that would be slick. He's getting totally played by all his so-called friends though, he needs to ditch those losers.

Haha yeah, what was the tab at that bar he was at? $1800 or something I think! When AJ first picked up the knife I thought he was going to rob a bodega or something. I can definately see something like that happening in the next few episodes. Ultimately though, I can't help but think this plot line will lead to AJ's total demise. I can see it going down like this:

He continues to play up his involvement in the family to his 'friends'. He spins more and more bullshit until eventually he's in the position where his buddies think he's really hard core. To keep up the facade he starts packing heat. There's an altercation, someone that needs to be dealt with or somewhere that needs to be robbed/broken into. Against his better judgement, AJ pulls his gun and either ends up dead or on a murder charge.

Imagine how much that would fuck Tony up. He'd blame himself and his life of crime, the marriage would fall apart, his psych. problems would all of a sudden become 100 times worse, he'd be unable to look after business and would possibly even step down as boss.

It would be a hell of a dramatic way to end the show!

I agree 100%. Shit, have a sideplot by all means, but make something happen! It's just so dull. Watching the fucker walk around his shitty small town eating pan cakes and fucking a fire-fighter might be interesting for 10 minutes, but not 4 episodes. Let him dissapear or kill him off already!

Next episode: 74 "The Ride"

Christopher makes a surprise announcement; Paulie pays a price for cutting costs at an Italian Street Fair; Tony embraces the "old school."

Saw the video preview as well, looks good :D

Sopranos is really starting to get on my fucking nerves. I used to love this show but this season has really been a big disappointment. After watching tonights episode and realizing that there are only 3 episodes left i feel that this season is moving way to slow and that they all seem to be acting like a bunch of old ladies.

I hope that the action starts to really pick up next week.

There's still like, another 10 episodes in this season.

only 3 left... glad no johnny cakes in the last one :) lookin forward to next week to see whats up with sack, somehow his situation is gonna play a big part in the end.

i really enjoyed last night's episode - it was hardly action-packed but it evoked the feel of earlier times.

i'm not necessarily looking for deaths, and explosions, etc. but there is something i just can't quite put my finger on missing from the previous few episodes.

Spoiler

I think whats missing is suspence, drama, action just to name a few. What do u really have to think/guess about for the next episode...oh i know...hows paulies prostate results going to turn out, will tony's sprained ankle get better, is chris having a boy or girl, will silvio have an asthma attack, how bad is janice's neck injury?

I feel like im watching episodes of the Golden Girls instead of The Sopranos.

What badass Mobsters these guys have become 8)

^ to your last comment, i think one of the great things about the sopranos has always been the fact that the characters are a lot more human than other fictionalised mobsters.

e.g. there was a scene last night which showed paulie sitting at home watching some crap on the shopping channel.

^I agree with what ur saying about showing the depth and reality of the character but my deal is that they only give us an hour a week of this show and i hate that they are wasting it on johnny cakes, home shopping network, and them crying about their sprained ankles and other problems.

I dont know...it just seems that previous seasons have shown more of the mafia side of business and how it is handled instead what they r showing now.

Remember when the "Johnny cakes" diner guy rode up to the house fire on his motorcycle? Wouldn't it be funny if he was somehow connected to those two bikers Tony & Chris shot when stealing the wine? Maybe a mini-war breaking out between the "vipers" biker gang and Tony's crew - forcing Vito to claim his allegiance?

Vito will never have the cojones to stand up to Tony... wanna know why?

he's a faaaaaaaaggggggg

i don't know why that's still funny, but it is. in any event, personally, i have found this season to be a big step up from season five, which got a little tedious with all of carmela's "i am woman hear me roar" shit. it has been introspective and psychologically deep, not as much action as the early seasons but not completely barren of it, either. altogether, i've been happy about it. as for the vito sideplot, i feel really bad for the guy. i mean, he's really a piece of shit like the rest of them, but the scene where he was sitting at the side of the waterfall looking there, he just seemed so damn lonely i had to feel a little bad for the guy. the scene where he gets caught dressed like the gay biker from the village people was fucking hilarious, though.

the development with Christopher has been interesting, his backslide was definitely inevitable, but damn how low can you go... he's sharing needles with that other junky now and that can't be a good thing for a prospective family man. it's funny how quick he asked that chick to marry him, just to plug the hole from adriana's absence. he really did love her in a fucked up way and its still bothering him and driving him to seek his own self destruction.

all in all, the sopranos is the only thing other than baseball i look forward to on television these days.

that would be very intresting if the biker thing was connected in some way.

he's a faaaaaagggggggg!

that shit was really funny thanks for reminding me lol.

Yea I agree somewhat don't get me wrong the Sops is the only show on tv I can't miss but, Im not sure where they are going with all these little bs sideplots.

Although I kinda think that there may be no big ending because they've done so well at keeping these characters real with real problems and emotions that they may decide just to have the crew go seperate ways, well maybe not seperate ways but just continue maybe Tony retire to Florida or something, maybe someone gets pinched.

I dunno, it hasnt been the best season but it still has me on the edge of my seat.

And a note on the last episode when Tony and Chrissy get drunk and they flashbacked to when Chris told T that Adrianna had flipped was the best scene by far this season and one of my favorites of the entire series.
