am i the only one who thinks this series is pretty weak so far? the last three or four episodes have been, frankly, boring. at least the hit last night evoked the sporanos of old...

I thought the first four were great, five and six were merely "ok" and last nights was pretty good.

SPOILER

I thought episode 7 was fucking awesome.

It was almost inspiring to see Arti sticking up for himself and beating the living fuck out of Ben and also standing up to Tony. I think it's safe to say he's in dangerous territory though. When I saw the first shot of the boat I thought he was going to be whacked for sure! Instantly brought me back to pussy's death.

The ending was also cool. Sort of a 'rebirth' for Arti with him getting out his old family cookbook and getting back the roots of being a chef and running a restaurant.

I wasn't so convinced with the Hollywood plot strand though. For a start, I think it's unrealistic that Chris and little Carmine would both think that they had a chance of getting "godfather meets saw" made with high-profile actors. They're a bit naive about things like that but surely they're not that stupid.

All in all though, it was a fantastic ep. Best of the season so far IMO.

absolutely, season is weird it seems off. Im not sure why that would be, if they got different writers or something. something for sure is different. after waiting so long I expected more.

i've been thinking the same to a degree. however i love the sopranos and i don't want to hear anything negative and will defend it ;)

i think that it seems like there is some storyline buildup with a lack of action that we're used to. while that can be a good thing it makes me sad because i know it's ending.. and i don't want it to end in Tony's death or anything like that.. I would hate that. :(

i would LOVE seeing carmela and meadow stepping up and taking a more active role. i just don't know what's going to happen.. i spose that's a good thing though

People have said the same lack of action crap for the last two seasons.

*SPOILERS*

I thought the last episode was great, with Chris thinking he can railroad his shitty idea with an A-list actor. ("Ben Kingsley? Can he do a New Jersey accent?" :) )

I've never liked Arti, but I have to admit this last episode gave him a degree of depth that I found interesting; I was shocked as shit to see him beat up that mobster. Sort of reminds me of that season where he tried to be a capo, and failed utterly; maybe he just needed the right stimulus (almost losing his business). My Mom thinks Arti is going to get killed this season, while I totally disagree; I think this is the last we're going to see of him as a significant character. Charmane shone as well, and I can't remember any other episode that has attempted to flesh her out this well.

As for lack of action, ditto Finder. By the end of the season, everyone will fugedaboutit.

Forgive me,8( I've only gotten the entire seasons 1-5 of the Sopranos last week for my birthday (I've only gotten to watch the 1st season in the past!) and I watched the entire 2nd and half of the 3rd season in the last weekend. Pine Barrens was the last episode I saw tonight...LMFAO! Fucking awesome episode!
He was an interior decorator or something. Yeah? Well his house looks like shit.
This week is Sopranos catch-up time for me....I'lll prolly finish Season 5 by the end of it.
Ahhhhh......carry on.

Decent episode. Hilarious when AJ dropped the knife and shat himself and ran, and it'll be interesting to see how this whole thing pans out with his panic attacks/drug use/wanting to get involved with his dad etc.

I loved how they were debating buying him a club. Can you imagine that?

LOL yeah they could easily. maybe they should. throw the kid a bone.. kinda sucks though about his panic attacks.

i was really glad to see that tony didn't succumb to the temptation of juliana. i don't want him to cheat on carmella anymore, not after the coma and his agreement to NOT do that anymore as a condition of not getting a divorce.

will someone whack vito already!?

^ yea the vito shit is played out like polka dots, AJ is headed down a dark path, show should start pickin up wit some real shit soon.

Poor Vito. Poor A.J. :(

Both of them are having such a hard time being "real" men, and Tony is having a hard time figuring out what to do about either of them.

Are they still planning on airing the 8 "bonus" episodes starting in January?

Paulie often makes me mad. His general demeanor..

good acting tho, if it upsets me :D

Word.....I've disliked Paulie more and more as the episodes pass by. I love Silvio. There is only one other character I REALLY hated and that is Ralph Cifaretto. Good riddance what an ass! lol!
