The Snowboarding Thread v. No skiers allowed

It is super short, its a 157 (im about 6'2) that ive had since I was 15, like I said I need a new board. I put my bindings foreward on it so my back is longer so that my edges grip better.

Yeah you definitely need to upgrade.

I'm 5'10" and currently ride a 159. Started on a 156 then up to a 162 for a few years but this 159 Lib Tech I ride now is tits. I'll probably ride it until it is completely in splinters.

^ lol. i'm around 185 and i have a 158, a 159 and a 161...

care, a jib is some object use to jump on or over on a snowbaord e.g. a rail, kicker, tree stump, etc. jibbing is making use of such objects while snowboarding.

I stay away from rails because I dont wear a helmet and generally think its a bad idea to do them without, especially considering I didn't have medical insurance for a few years until this season.

I do lots of jumps though and boxes sometimes, but boxes are kinda lame IMO.

I did alot more park stuff when I was a little younger (18-22ish)

I'd like to do more runs in the park but the search for fresh pow in areas no one wants to hike to is more rewarding for me. Plus, turning through trees is so much fun.

Getting too old to risk major injury that would affect not only my riding time but other activities as well.

many people these days would agree that it's a bad idea to snowboard at all without a helmet... your head's not worth $100, care?

Ive boarded for years without a helmet and im not gonna start now.

If I ever got the urge to start doing rails I would, but other than that I dont see the point.

Ugh, it sucks going back to my local resort.

Icy snow in the morning, slushy in the afternoon. Long drive, slow lifts, short runs.

I may just have to make this colorado trip a yearly thing.

Returned to Kirkwood this weekend and it was worth it. Saturday was groomers only so I played around with a GPS app so I could watch my total altitude and max speed. Then found out my Android version is too old to take screenshots on my phone (UGH!!!). Then it snowed overnight Saturday and then all day Sunday which was quite the surprise (I did not check the forecast or expect it). Supposedly it only accumulated 2-3 inches of snow but we were finding chutes and sluffing off probably closer to 6" and no one was tracking through. Hence, a charming powder day and freshies for most of the midday. :)

i dont always snowboard, but when i do, its this kinda shit
