I quit again...been 2 days now....
I always get the lung rejection symptoms when i quit. Coughing up phlem and weezing....god i hope it goes aways soon...:\

I just quit about a month ago and I know exactly what you're on about. Every time I've quit I have started coughing up phlem which has a very distinct gross smokey taste about a week after my last smoke. I'm still getting the odd bit here and there. Feeling better for it though.

That's funny.

nah it was MANY things and i've been trying to quit for years.... thats just what finally made me go 'ewwwwwwwww'

See the thing about the new ciggy packs is that it just further alienates smokers. For the most part smokers don't give a shit about the packs, sure we do have to look at them whenever we get the pack out, but that's it. I think it bothers non-smokers far more. I try to get the packs with the following of them :

Statistical data
Help-line
Kid on oxygen (I'm not a kid and I don't have one, as such this pack fails to bother me)

Smoking will be illeagal in a few years anyway, it's being phased out, and who knows, the people still dedicated to smoking may have a NICOTINE DISCUSSION forum on BL..... or maybe not.

Thinking about a cigarette right now, but refusing to cave in. If I can just make it like a week or so, it'll be a lot easier.

Send me some willpower, people!!! ;)

Spot on. It totally get's easier. I quit a little more than a year ago roughly, and for ages now I haven't even the slightest desire to smoke. Most of my mates still do, but even being in a smokey club or 'round my friend's smoking I'm still fine. I don't even have to be conscious of trying not to smoke anymore, i just never even feel like it. So keep it up, and you'll feel better. And once you get over the withdrawel cough and start to notice improvements in your health you'll find it even easier to keep going. and if all else fails, remember that all food will be a million times tastier! If that's not incentive I don't know what is :)

Ive quit smoking during the week, it was fricking hard but i did it and ive stuck to it for a few wks now.. I still smoke on weekends when im out though and around other smokers.
Thing that shits me now but is every monday my throat is sore and i just cough all day. This never happened when i smoked during the week.. i find that strange :X
Next plan is quitting all together, thats gunna be hard! not looking forward to this flemmy cough thing everyone seems to get when they quit too 8o

Anyone who quits solely on the strength of those pictures is a pussy who should never have started smoking in the first place.

I'm quitting!

Instead of having ~15 cigarettes a day, I've had around about 8 in the past 2 weeks. And only in a social situation with another smoker.

I'm just pretty well over it. I don't like the way it looks or smells. I know I can never be a brilliant opera singer if I smoke (my teacher says he's already noticed a marked difference). Easier to just quit.

What? I didn't know YOU smoked! ^ Your poor kids. Good onya for quitting!

Anyway...I've had no cigarettes for a month now ('cept BL Meetup;)

I reccomend any book by Allan Carr. He'll help you get over the psychological addiction. The physical addiction is beat within the first week or three. He recommends quitting on during your holidays when you're relaxed. He's right.

^ I know, it is awful. Obviously I quit while I was trying to get pregnant and then when I was pregnant, and also when I was breastfeeding, but it was still revolting. So, yay me for quitting.
