Heh, sorry should have checked back sooner.

It's some form of infrared countermeasures system (i think) that as far as I'm aware isn't officially mentioned as being in active use in any Forces, although I've not googled that deeply into it. Reason i snapped teh pic was it was on a C130 with a green livery, which im told is usually reserved for the USA's spec op's craft.

Either way, whatever it is I'm sure it costs more than enough to cure several diseases and end world hunger several times over, which alone, gives it a awesomeness factor of five.


I also feel far less geeky now after the warhammer discussion, bonus! :D

Can't believe that's part of a military plane, look at the bottom right hand corner and all the bolts.. looks like a plastic bodge job

Dude ! I was there too. Was shit about the weather. Im defo a self confessed plane spotter (well I just find them interesting).

My main reason going up to Leuchars was to see the Vulcan fly but it couldn't in the end :( There is one in the Airshow Museum not far from Edinburgh. Read a book about it and stuff.

Ive actually got a bunch of photos Ill get online when I get my camera back in a week.
 
There's a nice wee squad of Edinburgers now.

I'm not officially from Edinburgh originally but I like to pretend I am. :D

Spotted this monster at work on Mon/Tues, not too far from Glasgow. Never seen one with markings like it (omgantichristgothspider!!one) locally. Abdomen was i'd guess give or take the size of a 20p, scary wee bugger either way!
