The Photography Thread

Yeah mate I'm focusing first. And holding at still as my shakey hands will allow.

I see some macro insect pics which are just WOW but I can't produce anything like that on the cybershot because I can't get the detail. And zooming in whilst in macro mode makes things ultra blurry.
 
No, I can't zoom in whilst on macro either and find the whole thing very fiddly :\.

I've gotten a few decent macro shots, but things like extraordinarily detailed small insect shots just ain't going to happen on the cameras I have. Some camera are definitely better than others for it. I find macro shots (unless I've something to rest the camera on) to be very hit and miss :\.

Remember, some folks around here have some pretty sexy cameras that allow them to take way better pictures than us point and click fellas. I get a little envious myself :D.
 
Yeah I have a point and click as well but Felix (aka David Bailey) assures me you can get a close up and detailed insect shot with my camera.

I'd like to see his efforts because I cannot get anything of any worth.

I said about an hour and half ago I was off out to take some photos and I haven't made it out yet, spent all that time trying to get a photo for this weeks comp and still haven't managed to take a picture I'm happy with. I have a 'concept' I just can't get photo right. :\
 
For me, the best Pictures I take are the Pictures I didnt mean to take.

I took several pics earlier today for the photo comp in SO. I entered a photo and then realised I uploaded the wrong one, now I can't find the one I wanted to enter and it's not on my camera either. I must have deleted it. :!

Please can someone remind me how to get the pictures in proper size from Image shack and not thumbnail?
EDIT: Just found out how to do it.

Woah nostalgic moment. My mums mates used to own that wee street, and the pine furniture business adjacent (behind where the pic was taken). A lot of the buildings were used for art/craft stores, 2nd last one on the right iirc, was a potters shop, owner was one of my old dears closer mates.

There's (or was when i last visited the spot about 15 years ago) an old abandoned cinema really close to there too which had something to do with the street.

Sweet photo though man, cheers for bringing those memories back! I'll ask teh mater for more info if anyone still cares.

^ Ha! Now that would freak me out on a regular basis if I had such a thing :D.

As we've drifted slightly into cardboard creation territory, I used to have this book (assuming the link works, the government proxy that I'm on won't let me go to it 8)) and it was rather wonderful. The "Secret Agent" is an absolute classic =D.
