I love that song! I remember when it first came out(showin' my age a bit) 'You Sexy Thing' is another good song of theirs. We used to roller skate to it. Never missed Midnight Special...awesome show!

Hi Everyone! It would simply take to long to read all the good stuff you guys have been talking about in order for me to catch up lol! so good morning, hope you all are doing well. it's awesome to see this thread so active!
I have something to share about fentanyl patch adhesion. I usually have the same problems that everyone else does in this area.... they lose their stickiness and wind up coming off early.
Well, I was reading about this issue on a forum meant for nurses who are chronic pain patients. Many people were talking about the fact that they swabbed their skin with alcohol, then rinsed with water and dried before putting patch on.
I had always heard this was a bad idea. It even says so in the patient literature that comes with the drug...
But, I decided that I would try it.
Fast forward four days later to today ( I'm supposed to change it every 2 days)...I woke up feeling the beginnings of withdrawals. I immediately felt my patch and realized it was totally dried out. I got up and changed my patch and I obviously still feel like crap. It's actually a good thing though.
The reason that I forgot to change my patch was because it's stuck so well!!! It didn't give me any problems, and because of that I wasn't constantly looking forward to patch changing time lol.
Usually by the end of the first day I start to have issues with it gaping open... Then out comes the God forsaken tape and the checking every half hour, etc.. so this is really a big deal for me! I'm very excited about this, although I really do feel very badly. I noticed I didn't feel quite right all day yesterday, and I found myself taking more then normal of my breakthrough medicine... but I honestly never realized it was time to change my patch. I looked at several times, but it looked so good that I didn't entertain the thought any longer. I'm usually very good about changing it on time.
OK, Sorry for the ramble and thank you all for reading. Just very excited that from the looks of things, I won't have to go through so much crap anymore trying to get it to stick. BUT, I definitely will have to start writing down when I change it lol.

Little tip: Some pharmacies sell a product called "Tegaderm Patch Covers" which many hospitals use but few pharmacies carry. You put the cover over the Fent Patch and the problems of adhesion are forgotten-- at least in my case FYI.

Has anyone diagnosed with fibromyalgia ever experienced urination/penis pain that is very intense?

Bigg- I SO wish that I could use them...I've heard much about them and they sound great.
I cannot use them because I have the patches with the gel reservoir (sp?) and the only way I can aid adhesion is to put tape around the very outer edges of the patch.
Hopefully I have found a different solution, however.
I thank you for your input, and it is indeed a great tip for anyone who uses the patches appropriate for this awesome solution :)
Have a great night, everybody! !

Hi guys,

Does anyone have an idea what the pain clinic will prescribe for nerve pain after Lyrica???

Hi jo5h

No way of knowing that, but they could try and older anti convulsant or a tricyclic anti depressant, they might even want to try guanthedine nerve blocks. It is all at the drs discretion. Hope this helps.

Good Mornings Friends!
I'm totally back to normal from my mini-withdrawals yesterday, thank God. I did have a strange experience though:
It was almost bedtime and at that point I was feeling pretty well. ( For those of you who were not around yesterday, I forgot to change my patch and went into mild withdrawals upon awakening, and it got much worse throughout the day until afternoon). Suddenly I started feeling like I was going into severe withdrawals... totally out of nowhere too! It was really strange and I wound up taking an alprazolam, which helped after about an hour. Like I said, I am fine this morning but it was a pretty scary thing at the time.
How are all of you doing today? Hopefully today will be a much better day than yesterday for all of us! :)

Edit: Wish me luck on my appointment withis the urologist today... My doctor thinks I have kidney stones or maybe even bladder cancer:( I think he's sort of jumped the gun saying anything like that but I'm still a bit nervous. Won't find anything out today since it's my first appointment, I'm assuming.

i just got an $1155 hospital bill.

the insurance company is trying to play chicken with me. i know and they know they are liable for this bill. they are going to end up paying it.

they want me to look at this bill and be shocked into taking whatever asinine settlement they offer me. this is a pretty dumb position, because i have already successfully fought them for a $6 reimbursement, so if they think they are getting out of paying this bill they are wrong. they can pay the associated legal fees, too. dumbasses.

good luck! just a guess, but they will probably ask for a urine sample and send you for an ultrasound, and possibly give you a jug for a 24 hour urine collection. they might also ask you to piss through a strainer to try and catch any possible stones so that they can be analyzed.

Thank you so much for your kind thoughts and words, Michael. I read the post about your hospital bill and am not surprised. They can be such jerks. Good luck with your situation as well :)

Haha, love the sarcasm. what the hell happened? ?

My happy list:

-Have no need for any fucking pharmaceuticals
-Be completely untethered from meds and be rid of the DEA's and my doctor's firm grasps upon my testicles.

THANK YOU! I've literally dreamed of that day on the nights where I don't have dreams of being stabbed by my doctor with a knife only to make up and realize its breakthrough pain...My one doctor had my meds PERFECT and then some nurse made up some lies about me asking her for MS Contin (why the fuck would I ask a retarded nurse for anything?).

Wishlist (Realistic):
-20mg OxyContin, 90/month (take 3 times a day, extended release never works as long as it says)
-10mg Roxicodone, 180/month (we aren't going to "try" a certain quantity anymore, better safe than sorry and I mean for the patient not the DEA ripping the doctors head off, who cares about them:X)

Hello I'm 17 years old and my back has had me down and in severe pain for the last 4 months, doctors dont know what is wrong with my but my entire back and neck leave me in pain all day and sitting in school all day only make it worse. My hands an legs also randomly twitch which could be from pain, my anxiety (I am diagnosed with panic attacks and GAD), or I could have a serious disease that doctors aren't catching which only makes my anxiety worse. I am prescribed flexeral and celebrex for my pain but they do no good and I recently have been starting to use heroin to deal with pain which I no longer want to do. I want answers and to be taken seriously by doctors but it seems all they do us give me bogus mess that don't help and they probably think in searching for drugs, well I've had to resort to that because of the situation and I can't do it anymore. Before this I was an everyday gym goer and in good shape. I've become depressed and I gate life I just want help with my back. What do I do to be taken seriously about my pain?
Edit- would like to add ive been in physical therapy for 4 months to no avail

Sorry to miss the poop conversation, but I have hella experience with it. At one point I was on 8x10mg Opana IR/ day plus 4x4mg Dilaudid and I would shit once a week, and it would be the most painful experience of my life. Every time. So much blood also. Anyways, the secret to not getting constipated is diet and exercise. Food additives and meds don't really help. Become a vegetarian (helps with pain anyways as the hormones in meat interact with many body systems, including pain receptors), get 30 minutes of exercise a day. You will never have trouble shitting again.

Im just on nutrition shakes right now as anything else rots in my stomach then i vomit for days. You forgot one major point drink lots of water for less painful toilet times it helps an awful lot.
